First 3 episodes of Season 2 have been really good so far

Although I can't believe they killed off 'The Joker' (he wasn't I guess), I thought he was excellent frown

Really loving season 2, another villain introduced, that ginger fella is definitely the joker surely.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Channel 5 were hoping to show it in early 2016 (avoiding the mid-season break I guess).

Really liking this season so far. Season 1 had its moments, but some of the villain of the week episodes were dire (Balloonman and Spirit of the Goat!). The Fish, Maroni and Falcone story lines were tedious at times - a necessary evil to show Penguin as a schemer. I can't help but feel Season 1 would have been much tighter and less flabby if they only had 13 episodes to play with instead.

I'm saddened by the Joker V1.0 death, but I suppose it had to happen. To so blatantly show where the Joker came from would remove the mystery, whereas this approach of having him inspire a new breed of maniac is actually quite clever writing. It gave us what we wanted, without actually giving us all of what we wanted.

Dammit, didn't realise the new series was coming.

Binged three episodes of series one, but still have three to watch. Having just watched the first 10 of the new series, I think I may have spoiled a bit for myself. But too late now.

Gordon doesn't mind clearing the way for dirty work. Has he always been like that?

To me he is very much in the Dirty Harry mold:

Lieutenant Briggs: You're a good cop, Harry. You had a chance to join my team, but you decided to stick with the system.
Harry Callahan: Briggs, I hate the goddamn system! But until someone comes along with changes that make sense, I'll stick with it.

The way I see it; while Gordon does want to be a straight guy he has a real world appreciation of what kind of Policing Gotham needs, far more than the new Captain who comes in part way season 2, who has very good reason to be straight. Also, ever since he "killed", but did not actually kill Penguin in season one, Penguin has had that as a hold over Gordon, which he, and Gordon, have been prepared to use for their own ends

Glad, Jerome is dead. Such an annoying character.

I'm not enjoying this programme that much, I feel it's trying too hard. Just hasn't gotten the balance right.
