I'd never heard of Topsy and Tim, or the toy cars before (I'm 41, so probably not the target market) but the toy car part last night really had me hehe

Well timed episode for me, as just this week I have joined a Whatsapp group for the expectant parents at our ante-natal group. We are currently organising a curry night.... I expect soon we will be organising trips to the play area or to go and feed the ducks too, and discussing Topsy and Tim...

I must say I'm not an avid watcher of these but do catch one from time to time and last night's had me chuckling. As a father of a 4 & 6 year old with a small collection of Toot-Toot cars I though that was genius biggrin

Got a 2.5 year old at home. The Toot Toot cars bit had me in tears. We've even said at home how weird the police car song is. Trolling the other parents, top work DG.

Also the Topsy and Tim mum is a bit milfy. My wife know I only watch it for the mum.

Me and my lads made it on to the show tonight, happy days. Thought we'd missed our chance of fame...

Missed these first time around, so me and Mrs Sportidge are binge-watching it all on catch-up from S1E1 to the present day.

Bloody brilliant stuff so far laugh

In tears watching the Toot Toot cars. He is an absolute master at trolling nicely.

Absolutely.

But as a long time fan of the show, I rather twigged early on that something wasn't right. Still bloody brilliant though.

Another fan of Dave Gorman here. He's a very funny and very intelligent comedian.

Is there much that happens in the live show that doesn't make it onto TV?
Hi TVR, good to hear from you.. thumbup

Not a wonderful lot. There's a warm up guy that gets you going, a comedian called Clint Edwards who runs through a few topical gags, gives you a few pointers re laughing and when the camera is pointed right at you.

DG is on stage for about ten minutes longer than what you see. He might make a mistake here and there that he'll run through again, he gets treated by make up every ad break but no, not really. I'd guess that he's only on stage for maybe 7-8 minutes longer than what you actually see.

Get on his mailing list, you'll get first dibs on his tickets for his recordings although next year, he's on tour so might not be immediately doing another series of MLIG.

I suppose it may get wearing if you live with him....but his wife was being a bit of a kill joy.

That was an outstanding prank - funny but not mallicious

I thought his wife's response was almost as funny, although she played her hand a bit too early in her version of the prank. A killjoy wouldn't have entered into the spirit of things.

Trouble with the Mail's comments is you never know if it's just people taking the piss, and that sounds just like that.

Ah, well that is a shame to end what has been one of the most innovative shows of the last few years, but it is better to end it before it ends him.. or at least, end it before he commits to making it "worse" to suit better deadlines etc.

I hope to see him live one day that's for sure

There are still seats available for his tour next year. I thought about going to Wolverhampton Civic, but seeing as I'll be there the following night for Joe Lycett, well two nights in a row is a bit too much.

Just watched the last one of the series on the tivo and he did a great piece on a spoof music quiz which took a life of its own. He showed a screen shot of forums that were taking it seriously and PH was top left ! Anyone know what thread that was ?

Love the way he develops an idea.

Just finished watching the final one of the final series and I feel dirty for saying it (as I'm a massive fan) but tonight's was IMO very poor. Just a mish mash of lots of stuff and while I know that this is the premise each week, tonight's just didn't knit together at all.

I'm sure I read on one of his emails that they were working on shows 7 and 8 while shows 1 and 2 were going out and I think tonight's looked a rush job. That said, two bad shows out of 36 isn't a bad record (I didn't like last week's one either). But maybe it's time has arrived anyway, without DG knocking it on the head.
