these days you'd have to add Liam Neeson, since he's the new action movie star... And in the age bracket
Good call. He hasn't got a single cell in his body that can actually act so he'd fit right in.
Seriously?
Yes, seriously. Name me one film where he actually portrays any form of emotion as opposed to just quietly growling his words whilst wearing a bit of a frown.
Schindler's List? Michael Collins? Rob Roy? The Grey?
Got anything less than fifteen years old?
The Grey
Ok, less than fifteen years old and I've heard of.
So your opinion is basically based on Taken & Taken 2? I know don't feed the troll.
Not really. It's based on LN not having made a decent, well known fillum in the same league as the admittedly good Schindler's List, Michael Collins or Rob Roy in a very long time.
I just don't think he's a very good actor, and simply saying "But....but.....he is. He's made all these films and they're really good" doesn't change that.

I hope The Asylum do their own version with Reb Brown and Michael Dudikoff and then get Geoffrey Ho to direct. That would be epic.

(if anyone gets this post, I salute your taste in films)

saw this last night through rainier larnd and Wow.....Just.....wow. So bad.

The others had their good bits because it was Rated R and the bad storyline was made up for by the 80s macho acting and the gratuitous body count, the use of AA12 shotguns and overuse of squibs.....This was painful and barely worthy of putting on freesat on the Horror Channel. 12A aimed at the teenage boy on summer holidays.

2 was just such a tough act to follow i mean how to do you top Chuck Norris, Arnie and Willis in a smart car with belt fed machine guns in an aircraft terminal. They just proved they couldn't. the only thing is No 4 cant be any worse than 3!

Just so glad i didn't waste money on seeing it.

I suffered the first one, I never bothered with 2 and to be honest, the way some of the cast look in the trailer, I suspect Swayze would fit right in!

Looks like a Zombie film!

I just watched this at my, ahem, rather local cinema and it wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting - a popcorn flick I've already forgotten half of and will likely not watch again. By far the best thing about the film was Mel Gibson who looked like he was having a great time (just like Van Damme in 2, it's a shame they don't all play baddies more often), it was nice to see Snipes back on the big screen but I have no idea what drugs Banderas was on.

It suffers the two main problems of the other films, the first being there are simply so many characters we never get to spend time with any of them. The only thing I could really tell you about the new recruits, aside from it going against the entire premise of the Franchise in the first place, is that Rousey is certainly a good athlete but she couldn't act wet in a thunderstorm. The other is that, for a crew called The Expendables, they suffer a virtually zero casualty rate. This removes all the tension for the action scenes as you know they'll all survive without a scratch. Overall I'd give it a 5/10

Is it possible to stream this from somewhere rather than go to the 'cinema'?

All of them are utter bks but totally enjoyable.

The last film I enjoyed that was like this was Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man. That was also so bad it was good.

Just seen it. Unfortunately it suffers from a serious lack of blood.

Just got back from seeing it too, not something that sprung to my mind. hehe

I did think it was much better than the reviews of it I've seen, but that's normally the case. It was a decent brain out violent film which is what I wanted!

Went to see this on Monday as an "avant premiere" in Luxembourg. I was surprised how many people took their kids of ~10 years of age, even if there wasn't a lot of blood.

I like watching 'brain in neutral' films with my mates. 5/10

Having seen it a few weeks ago and thinking it wasn't that bad (not that good either) i watched the original Expendables last night.

In comparison the Expendables 3 is ste. The first film is brilliant in comparison. I'm actually glad i saw Ex3 recently so i could appreciate how good the first film is.
