The Apprentice 2014.......................
Discussion
What I want to know is why EVERY "board meeting" when its down to 3 people do they start chucking blame at each other and then trying to deflect any blame from themselves. Honestly I wouldn't hire anyone like that. Its your fault not mines. Rather than, lets learn from this, lets not adopt a blame culture.
Surely to God at some point someone will come along and say, "you know what, I did do that wrong, I miss judged it and it cost us, I'll learn from that and not do it again". here's the positives.

I suspect that they are worried that if they do that then they will be fired or they are just too busy panicking that they might miss out on this 'once in a lifetime' opportunity that the verbal diarrhoea comes bubbling up.moanthebairns said:

"Normal" behaviour makes cr@p TV. If that happened the TV production company would probably just use lots of edits showing them looking moody/cross/guilty/silent before Shuggs sacks one of them. None of the fired candidates ever appear as moronic on YBF as they do on The Apprentice(indeed many appear quite nice).Surely to God at some point someone will come along and say, "you know what, I did do that wrong, I miss judged it and it cost us, I'll learn from that and not do it again". here's the positives.
Take for example this week's episode - they lost by about £15. And yet, if you listened to Lord Shuggs, you'd think they were completely, incredibly, hopeless, when the truth it, is was probably luck more than judgement.

That was a brilliant moment. He is a horrible little cretin. One of the highlights of the episode for me was Karen giving him a lesson in basic trading standards when he was trying to fiddle the prices at the market.
What was funnier was that Karen wasn't entirely right, especially with the reason she gave for not putting an RRP.Countdown said:

I'm pretty sure that in years gone by that would have counted against them
It used to as it was taken off their final total which is why all the teams go into panic mode and start dumping stock towards the end of the task.Maybe it wasnt part of the task here but the teams did it anyway to make whatever profit they could as a little bit of something is better than nothing?

You can quote a RRP (despite not having retailed the item before) as long as it is 'realistic'..
Thanks, I thought she was confused but didn't know the exact reason. Obviously though I assumed as a manufacturer you would be able to state an RRP after all it's only recommended! KTF said:

The production costs (including the unsold stock) were already deducted from the totals at the end to leave the raw profit. Even in the worst case scenario, you could give away the unsold stock and the team still would have won.
There was no bonus for selling out or hitting a specific volume target, that'll be the car dealership task

That's got to be a massive grey area then? If you then don't sell the item at the RRP then by definition is it not reduced/on offer/on sale?Karen was getting confused with reduced/on offer/sale etc. where it has to have previously been offered at the higher price etc.

The legislation around showing something as reduced is quite prescribed but easily abused, for example, you could have a small store in Grimsby rotating your full priced stock whilst all the other stores in the country will be showing the "on offer" products.

what he did, as manufacturer and sole producer of the product is state the RRP was £45 in an attempt to mislead people into thinking the £18 selling price(or whatever it was) represented less than half the usual retail price.
he even quite clearly said lets just make it higher.
