I think the layered wrap and the flocking were just to showcase techniques that they hadn't done before. Anyone can fix a door latch and I'm sure it has been seen several times before with different cars but new techniques are always interesting even if the end product isn't profitable or to everyone's (or anyone's!) taste.

This is exactly what I was on about before. It's not about selling for profit any more wink.

They must be struggling to come up with new things to show us. Any ideas?

This bit proves that Mike was trying anything to avoid using Ed's ideas!

The car is being worked on for a TV show on Velocity and will be for sale in February 2015.
It will be gettig a vinyl wrap, 2" suspension drop and refurbished interior.

If anyone is in the market for a Pacer then please get in touch and perhaps we can work your ideas in to the design.

Just watched the Pacer episode. China clearly has a drug problem, possibly meth, maybe crack. I hope he gets help frown

It really was awful. I'm surprised Mike didn't run him over in it to be honest. It was probably Eds way of telling Mike not to bring him st cars.

Anyone else notice that kooky Californian chick he bought it from had a picture of cult leader Jim Jones on her shirt?

He's the nut job that had a US Congressman killed and then poisoned over 900 of his followers with cyanide-laced fruit juice.

But I digress.

We noticed that too, bloody poor taste even as a joke/ironic.

What a great car (Datsun 240Z) - just shows that in '72 the Japs were making cars engineered on a completely new level to anything else in the world. What a great car to work on.

really enjoyed that episode tonight. Always much better when they concentrate on the mechanics rather than crappy cosmetic rubbish.

The thing is, us amateurs know we would fk up most bodywork or painting leaving a poor finish, but give us a Haynes manual or a YouTube video and even if it takes us 5 times longer than suggested, we will sort the oily bits in the end. Possibly.

An enjoyable episode unlike last weeks which was a massive fail.

I really like the style Mile has in negotiating his first offer is nearly 40% less than asking price. Seriously how does he get away with that I try to negotiate but frankly wouldn't dream of offering £6k on a private sale for a car up at £10k.

It's not real life, it's a scripted TV programme...

Price negotiation: Scene 22, Take 12

I know it is childish and I should be able to ignore it, but it irritates me that Ed makes out he doesn't have a clue what car is going to be delivered yet is standing with his hand on the door knob to the workshop when Mike hoots.

I went through a stage when I would fast forward through the ads and then continue until after the delivery.

When Mike is going in for the sale, the purchaser is almost always standing by the front offside wing looking along the side of the car.

I feel certain, really certain, that the price paid comes as a surprise to both. Honest.

I've been interviewed for TV a couple of times and there was a discussion on what the interviewer would say, then I'd run though my answer, there would be a discussion about it, then a trial run in front of the camera but no recording and then there were two live recordings.
