My wife works in the criminal justice system and reckons 10% of new coppers are members of OCGs! I'm not sure how you would know that though.
it's the 10% not in the Masons.

I don't get it, that Chinese cyber crime woman said they didn't have access to the encrypted data but then a minute later said they were using a GUI interface, machine learning and blockchain to workout the H fella's speech pattern.

Things have definitely become a bit bizarre since series 1. Whatever happened to the baddy from the Golf Club, who was let off?
Murdered at the start of S2 during the ambush.

Loved Adrian Dunbar in this. Great. Said at the end he was put on a final written warning for misconduct in office, I assume this was the visiting Lee Banks in prison off the record. I think there will more to play on that next series.
yup head of anti corruption on a final warning

There was a great 1hr interview of Jed Mercurio by Melvyn Bragg on Sky Arts tonight, repeated at 2pm on Saturday. Well worth a watch if you’re a fan of the show.

Are they just copying The Departed/Infernal Affairs now?

Not a great finale.

As someone has said, the number plates grate. I assume it is because it is filmed in Northern Ireland (which is ironic given the plot).

However, series 1 was filmed in Birmingham and they still have maps of Birmingham on the wall in the interview room.
The show is now filmed in NI

The numberplates, as we have discussed several pages ago, are to avoid them being ever mistaken for real numberplates that people see out on the road. You won't ever be following a car on the road and know it was one from Line of Duty which is supposedly a "bad guy" car. Just like you can't ring any of the phone numbers up that they quote, they are a batch of correct style but impossible plates entirely for TV use. Clearly a change since the last series where they were a bit more realistic but the Qs and Is just avoid them being used elsewhere

It does grate on us as car nerds, but doesn't take away from the point of the show.

What a ride that was, excellent series, yet again. It did have hints of the Departed about it, not such a bad thing though.

So it didn't go as I expected to it, and well done to those who called out Jill as the bad egg in the batch.

will we see more of Carmichael in the next series I wonder?

Very enjoyable finale though to me.

Maybe I've missed something, but they seem to show at the end the bent ones either dying or been given protection in return for telling all. Why is no mention made of what should be the numerous bent cops who have been unearthed in each series?

In this series, when Arnott came running back into the AC12 offices they could see that the other armed officers had been stood down and that the one guarding the room must have been bent too, so firstly why did they not learn their lesson from before and almost let the same thing happen as last time, and secondly if a whole team of armed officers were to be stood down why don't they investigate/ show who gave those orders?

Were they definitely bent, or were they just taking orders from the wrong person/under false guidance?

Hence why the "Urgent Exit Needed" text didn't work for Jill. Steve and Kate had to take action in case one of the officers did something, but as they did not, its perhaps they weren't bent at all?

I wondered if the interview room had some kind of mobile jamming, as a lesson learned from Dot's exit. But I think there were several instances of people being on the phone in that room.

That interview room is a bit weird in any case, being made of glass on two sides so that everyone can see who's in there, and whoever is in there and has a good memory for faces can get a look at the AC-12 officers who might be undercover in the future.

Some of the locations in Belfast aren't very well disguised if you know the area but it's got a lot better in Series 5 than previous series.

I remember the end of Series 3 or maybe series 4. Kate is chasing the corrupt officer that killed the Keeley Hawes through the city.

The streets used are about 5 miles away from each other so adding up the distances she chased him about 12 miles on foot.

It all ends when she shoots at a getaway Range Rover from Tates Avenue Bridge ( Moss Heath I think they call it).

That's the same bridge with the BT phonebox in Series 5 which is near Windsor Park Stadium . You can clearly see a Twelfth of July bonfire they didn't make any attempt to erase it.

Any LOD nerds probably know this but here's some key locations

AC-12 HQ is Invest NI in Bedford St

Police HQ is Belfast Central Library in Royal Avenue
