I thought she'd died, the beating went on and sounded terrific, and then there was the face of the bloke, but when she crawled, it was a tad underwhelming.
I guess it was a rubber pipe that was wrapped around his wrist?

I guess that was the wolf, at the end.

Got to be honest, I thought she was dead too.

Just as good as the first two series especially as yet again the whole story is about how the smallest action or grudge can send things spiralling out of control. Just wish it wasn't on so late when I have to be up for Goodwood at 05-30!

Perhaps that is what they wanted Sy to think, it was done at the front of her car so he wouldn't have seen anything other than repeated blows down.

A murder with a body found there could be traced back and lead to questions and they don't want the police around at all, the way Varga reacted when the cop came round to just investigate the car road rage incident showed that and his suggestion to Emmet that Sy is not on their side, remove the problem rather than create a solution.

Haven't they already killed two locals?

The old boy "jumped" but bludgeoning to death Ray's fiance might be too close especially with Hummer tyre tracks in the mud next to her.

There was an old guy lawyer? And an old guy car park attendant? Or was it just the lawyer who 'jumped'?

It was Emmit's lawyer who went base jumping without a chute in the car park, they had asked him to investigate Varga.

My wife and were watching this last night and agreed that it's NOT as good as the first two series.

They had a sense of the absurd, even whimsical, even when murders were happening. Thewlis' characters and his henchmen are just nasty, you could root for BBT's character, however evil he was, but not for these scum.

No-one else seems even remotely sympathetic either (except the deposed police chief) - There was usually someone with a good heart in a bad situation (maybe Emmit fits the bill, but that wig!!! biggrin) who you could sympathise with, not really in this series.

I think this series has lost something compared with the previous two, although it still has its moments.

Funnily enough people said the same about this time in series 2. It's not over yet and if you have watched the first two series nothing will be what you think it will be.

Not seen all of latest episode yet, but agree that Lorne Malvo (BBT) despite being an evil murderous git he did seem to have certain principles and moral standards, Varga and his crew have none.

Incidentally what was that opening scene from episode 1 all about, ie.the East German interrogation of some innocent guy mistaken for Varga's tall henchman? Seemed a bit odd.

It'll require multiple viewings.

S2 is my fave, it doesn't have the hobbit, and the story was just seamless. I felt there was a rupture at the end of the first. I do like this current one, but Obiwonki really does lower it for me. Vargas is top, though utterly loathsome, the bulimia, gluttony. Love the police chief and the LA ep withthe robot.

Series 1 was so good, it's unlikely to be matched ever.

This series isn't as good as 2, I like Thewlis's character, but, not his henchmen.

I wondered if it was because he was a Jew, and the meal was pork chops?

Goran Bogdan (the taller of the two henchmen) was very good in The Last Panthers. He's a bit underused in this so far IMO.

Superlative is a Murray Walkey adjective. I thought I'd try it out.
