Well I enjoyed it - and I think Mr. Glenister does a better than average job as the laissez-faire presenter...
Wasn't the Police Escort on a Kent registration too, rather than a Liverpool one?SydneyBridge said:
Retired copper was well chuffed to see a Mexico police car
Did anyone else notice the BMW in the background on private plates that resembled the retired copper's surname?HKF was a Liverpool County Council area registration.
This is in my local paper this week, explains the format behind the programme.

Kent registrations were...
- FN
- JG
- KE
- KJ
- KK
- KL
- KM
- KO
- KP
- KR
- KT
The Liverpool K's were
- KA
- KB

bloody hell at the price of that DeLorean
£48k
I see the odd DMC going through the auctions and even in mint condition they usually never get above £20k
Some motoring writer (possibly Quentin Willson?) once bemoaned the fact that 'Back To The Future' has elevated DeLoreans way above the level they deserve - he said they were horrible things.£48k

Oh my sweet lord have you been shipwrecked on some distant Caribbean Island and just made it back?
Haha yes serious question! Only born in 81 so know little of these. Quite a rare thing for a car like that, no? Most rivals must have all been fwd?
When I was a kid (when we used to sit around a fire and wonder how it got there) we pretty much all had a RWD 70's cars. Escorts, Cortina, Marina, Avenger, Horizon, Chevette etc but as they rotted away, their replacements were all FWD. Youngsters used to laugh at the idea of owning / driving a diesel too. My how things have changed.

I think you need to do some homework...mk1 k mk2 escorts ruled rallying before 4x4 cars came along. There weren't any front wheel drive cars that could match the Escorts on the road or track until the Mk1 golf turned up, there weren't many front wheel drive cars around before you were born, full stop. I really struggle to believe that someone who joins PH can never have heard of one of the greatest cars ever made. Quite a rare thing for a car like that, no? Most rivals must have all been fwd?

All that 'skidding' the brightly painted ones with numbers on did. Lots of tyre smoke from the.......... back. Jeez I can't know everything about every great car ever made! Obviously I have heard of these cars but I don't know them inside out.
That's why I was surprised they were rwd being from my era.
It's nice to come on here & learn, not be shot down because my knowledge doesn't equal yours.
Yes I could see the cars squatting & spinning up from the rear but as they were the rally & Harris modified ones I was unsure if that was standard or a mod that was common.
Now I know something I didn't before!

Don't worry mate, welcome to Pistonheads where people try to belittle you at every opportunity because they know everything about everything to do with cars and if you don't, you're deemed an idiot not worthy of being on a motoring forum. It's tedious and rude but you have to overlook it or you'll get drawn into arguments worthy of a pantomime That's why I was surprised they were rwd being from my era.

Oh no he won't, oh yes he will - there, done it before someone else does!
