Must have been tough, constant wet cold weather, with no respite of anything but endless same. To be wet through to the skin, not a saying, but actually literal fact. Stacked on top of the other deprivations, one can see how it would dissolve resolve.

Only just realised the lil Gollum fella doesn't have a beard, must have a condition.

Indeed, he has alopecia. Possibly bought about by the death of his partner from cancer (stress is a leading cause of the condition).

Or he might have had it all of his life. I don't know. The Gollum comment probably isn't warranted though!

Well I didn't mean it as a pejorative, but I take your point.

I reckon survival skills are far down the order of requirements to be picked for the show.
But I'd have expected them to at least have watched some ray mears.

I reckon they go for heart tugging back story, wanting to further themselves, comfortable and loud in front of camera.

Police woman was a nob. Dread to think about what type of police officer she was, clearly attention seeking and ego driven. She should have fked off last week, actually feeling bad for the guy that got booted last week even if he was a nob now.

Odd, you know 'fancy words' like pejorative but you don't understand that writing something horrible is indeed an insult, whether you meant it or not.

You could have said 'bald bloke' and that would have been an acceptable description of the guy. Or his name, or mentioned him by what you know of him (the paramedic, the widower etc).

On previous series when Bear turns up to pick the islanders up, they always show him around their camp.

The Camp always looks immaculate and nothing like what we see in previous episodes.

Also the place always looks sunny and idyllic when the contestants are dropped off and beautiful when picked up yet there is always a storm in the middle.

Yes you're right, it's very odd. Pejorative is an english word, not sure about 'fancy.'
It's more about how someone takes something, not how it's intended.

I've applied for the past 4 years but never heard anything after an initial acknowledgement email. I'm sure it's not easy but surely these people have seen previous series to get an idea of what to expect?
Mate, get yourself to Panama and its just a 45min boat ride to the island they use.

I was on the neigbouring island a couple of weeks ago. It would be easy to turn up as they film and leave them some tins of beans!

Remote, they are not.

The more I watch the Island and similar sort of programmes them more I understand why the military has ranks (officers and soldiers etc).

You wouldn't have 2 people walking away in the military and doing there own thing.

Those two women were being really pathetic and the retired policewoman is a bit of a bully to boot. I've got a lot of respect for that paramedic chap, seemed it was largely him alone that kept them from quitting. He's got a lot of resolve.

Jane the ex cop is a bully. She's let her guard slip too many times. Her mate is also a nasty piece of work.

Tough ep this one, with all the fainting.

Hmm....that lil cayman...bit docile...drugged? It didn't exactly spring to life when they tried to noose it...recall the first series? I'm sure there was a real wild one in it.

I've had more difficulty ordering a meal than capturing that caiman. Very disappointing.

Agreed. I doubt they even killed it. We saw Aran on its back holding the knife, but I reckon someone else had already inserted it and he was just filmed as if he had done it. They were having a rough time, so I don't crticicise the set-up.

It really is an idiotic program. I'd like to see what people with an interest in survival could achieve rather than a bunch of obnoxious attention seekers.

Very sad for that one that had to leave for death on the family.

More power to them all, I couldn't do it. The constant diarrhoea (not to mention everything else) would have me off in hours.
