Perhaps he is a real copper but goes everywhere on his own without a partner and never has to tell his superiors what he is doing during his shift. The call from Sarah is routed to him and he can take most of the day sorting it out plus giving lifts to everyone. Makes perfect sense in Weatherfield just as the "real" police always turning up to arrest or interview people in the pub/bistro/factory surrounded by lots of people!!

Indeed. There were gaping holes in the storyline. Interesting idea by the writers, though.

At least the writers" had the imagination to use a Tanning Salon for the grooming of Bethany and not the Kebab shop...

I think the story is lining up to make Craig the unexpected hero of Bethany's situation. A copper being part of the grooming is a nice complication.

I think I preferred Corrie when there was 1, maybe 2 major storylines at a time. I could keep track. But it seems now everyone has something going on. We have, off the top of my head:

Bethany grooming
Craig/his sarge/ grooming cover up
David/Shona being mum of Kylie's killer.
Billy/Todd, dying friend and his orphaned daughter
Pat/murder/so far unknown
Pat and Anna feud.
Kevin and garage debt
Pat and kevin's van.
Sally troll/her sister
Pat running faye to prison to see Seb.
Michelle and lost baby.
Leanne/Nick/Peter /steve/ Oliver baby woes
Peter/Toyah baby woes ivf
Aiden/eva marriage or not
Aiden/maria affair
Old man connor mystery illness
Mary son coming home
Norris/mary love situation
Ken murder attempt
Daniel/Sinead abortion oxford
Tracey/Rob
Zidane unhappy at work
cathy/Brian getting it on

And probably more.

It's too much for me. Used to be gentle entertainment. Now you need a spreadsheet on the laptop to keep track.

You've also got Johnny and Jenny's wedding, which no doubt won't go smoothly.

Everybody has just forgot about Pat and Co doing them out of their money for the flats.

They all seem to think that Pat's also an innocent victim of Vinny's scam, even with his previous track record. Some people are so trusting.

I agree the number of plotlines has reached epidemic proportions - maybe it's the result of having a pool/panel of writers, all having their own ideas and wanting to promote them. It's almost like they don't have regular meetings to discuss the show and the way it's going to progress.

From Friday:-

Kirky:-

"I drink Cider....it's the apples, it helps towards my five a day"....laugh

Personally, I don't mind several storylines going on at once, providing they are decent quality, so many seem to be just "padding" though.

Looking forward to next weeks 9 o'clock blockbusters.....should tie up quite a few loose ends.

Pretty convenient that Daniel's sneakers were bright red. Let's hope this is the end of that story, I was getting so I couldn't care less.

Mrs WR thinks Beth could be a wild card, angered by Sinead's abortion.

A confused man thinking the attacker had red shoes would not hold up in court, many people own red trainers etc.

But yes, it is dragging on a bit like a few plotlines recently.

Ohhh - good call Mrs WR. Bit leftfield, but I admire her roaming mind.

Then again, it could have been Audrey. Ken has constantly left her in the lurch. Or the senior librarian - Ken possibly forgot to return his Gibbons Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire and now owes £2.75 in fines. Or possibly it was the ghost of Uncle Albert just sick and tired of young Ken's pedantry and faux-socialism.

hehe
