She is back in the news again. Seems you are not the only lot who think she is attractive.

To be honest, I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of her smile

I was right in my guess that Liz and Tom Ridley were in cahoots. I'm not totally sure of the whereabouts of cahoots, but I think it's near Ramsbottom. Also it appears that Tom isn't trying to get in Liz's leopardprint knix, unless it's to wear them.

Billy is deep in the mire now - unless Peter decides that he'll keep schtum because of Simon's involvement.

.
Probably a couple of sizes too big for him. Beverley Callard has certainly piled on the pounds in recent months.

Had a thought last night and me and the Mrs are struggling.

Are there any parents that are still together on the street.

All we have is Tyrone and Fizz and if you are generous and include them Mary's son and his wife, though how long that lasts is a question.

You can kind of go on a technicality with Gary and Izzy living together but not in a relationship.

Interesting point. Even Tyrone and Fiz don't count because both kids are from previous relationships.

Adi and Asha? Still with their dad, because mum is dead.

That's me failing I thought Tyrone and Fizz had 1 together.
Not counting Adi and Asha, even if their mum was still around would she still be with Dev, she was having an affair before she was killed off.
If we are counting single parents left because one is dead we could add a few more, like the adult Barlows and Lilly with David, Marias kid etc so I'm only counting currently intact parental units lol.

Then I reckon you're right. If the Corrie writers are trying to emulate modern Britain, then this gives food for thought about relationships today.

On the other hand, it's a soap (albeit a superior soap) and they do tend to over-egg the points they're trying to make.

Such as the long running Corrie gay agenda.......getting ridiculous now.

Even Tom Ridley catches the other bus.

Holby City's nearly as bad.

It's Coronation Street not Canal Street.

A tip for Daniel, all forlorn over Sinead legging it on him. You should take a crack at Kate, she's not really a lesbo, haven't you seen the video doing the rounds?

Maybe it's to compensate for the decades of Bernard Manning (et al ) 'humour' which ridiculed everbody who wasn't a straight white bloke ?

I see where you are coming from but:-

You've obviously completely missed the point I was making ,which was why I highlighted the previous post.

One of Corrie's strengths has always been it has kept abreast of current trends and issues, even going back to the 60's.

I certainly don't have a problem with gays, in fact my best friend of over forty years is gay, by all means have some gay characters in the programme, it reflects modern life, and I'm all for it, all I am saying is let's keep the percentage of them realistic.

Sometimes the storylines seem to be taking over the show.

(all imho)

With respect:-

It's quite obvious you have never seen Bernard Manning's act. I'll own up and admit I was a very big fan.

I went to see his live shows at his (World famous) Embassy club on numerous occasions in the 1970's and 80's, he would wipe the floor with most of today's "alternative" comedians.

Bernard took the censored out of everyone, no one was immune, least of all his own Jewish race, he often poked fun at himself, his weight, his appearance, at the same time raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, such as The variety club of Great Britain.

There was never any malice, it's just the world these days has gone pc mad.

Not really - some of us (even pensioners like me ) didn't like the sort of toxic crap people like Manning and his cronies peddled . And yes , I have endured a few minutes of him on screen.

Well we will have to agree to differ about that then, you didn't like him or his brand of humour that's fair enough.

Moving back on topic:-

The Pat Phelan "cellar" storyline seems to be going even sillier. Am I right in thinking Phelan is going to give Andy the old house, (Which is an old boarded up ruin), in exchange for him to act as a jailer for his next victim, probably either Daniel or Vinny?

Andy certainly seems to have developed a very bad case of the Stockholm syndrome.

The storyline's getting really rather tedious and increasingly implausible. It's only Phelan's malevolence, portrayed by the excellent Connor McKintyre, that's keeping it afloat.

I think he's going to get Vinnie down there, shoot him and Andy then put their prints all over the gun to make it look like they murdered each other!
