They always commandeered "the snug" which was part of the bar where I believe the dartboard is now situated. I've no idea where the dartboard would have been in those days. Come to that, I can't remember when pubs stopped being split into bar and lounge areas - the lounge was where you went if you were with a girl (carpets on the floor) and the bar if you were out with your mates (often bare floorboards, and in my extreme youth covered in sawdust for spitting and soaking spilt beer and blood).
