For me Corrie is going downhill currently. How much silliness in one episode? Garry's £9k from Peter, has gone on 'supplies' and Sarah doesn't bat an eyelid. Billy and Paul have been together a week yet win a Mr & Mrs quiz at the Rovers, and a dead girl is texting Carla, so naturally she calls up to apologise to her. Leave bringing characters back from the dead to Enders.

I despair (to some extent - I'll still keep watching). Have the writers had their minds twisted by Kate Oates so much that they can't change their approach?

I can't recall any sensational plots back in the 1960s which couldn't have been an everyday part of life. It really was all about humdrum lives and perfectly normal conversations, and it was still interesting. The worst thing that could happen was Ken Barlow shouting at Uncle Albert for being entrenched in his attitudes. No need for murders, tram crashes, explosions and psychopaths. Do the producers and directors think Hollyoaks and Emmerdale are world leaders of their genre?

I think the new guy is worse than Kate Oates. He does even more stupid stories in an even more stupid way.

It is rubbish. I stopped being a regular viewer few years ago. Used to be the cream of the crop of TV. It's more like an ozzy soap opera now. Shame as it was always the envy of the world as the best of the best.

Anyone seen the news that someone named Beth Morgan is joining as one of Bethany's stripper friends?

I've just been sent about 30 pictures and videos of her in various positions that trump anything I've seen of Kate Connor in the past.

Something to look forward to.

Mary's proposed trip to Prestatyn to see a Susan Maughan tribute act - now that's better Corrie! Proper humour.

I don't "get" Rick's idea to lend money to old biddies in a sheltered housing complex. They won't be able to pay him back, and threatening someone already on their last legs has no point.

BTW I don't remember a ginnel between the Rovers and Ken's house until recently. Maybe I'm wrong or else the producers have created something from nothing.

That would be the old set though, seeing that Sunita was in it. There were other subtle changes, like IIRC Devs shop gained an extra upstairs window.

Gails house always had a tardis quality to allow 5 or 6 adults at a time to live there, as does what's her face from the taxi firm. The big blonde one ! Her house used to have half the street living within.
