God Corrie was so depressing tonight. You know you are in for a scintillating evening entertainment when the programme starts with "Some viewers might find scenes upsetting". I assume the announcer is referring to the scriptwriters and acting but I might be wrong.
Maybe my hearing is getting worse but it seems the serious acting scenes involve muttering incomprehensible rubbish.

I found it upsetting. Very....Shockingly bad storylines at present.
Carla went full fruit loop in about 2 hrs flat. You watch, she'll be right as ninepence this time next week

I was thinking the same. She will visit the "miracle cure centre" and the factory will be up and running by end of April. I am confused who runs the businesses in Corrie when the owners are out having fun. Carla and Nick in the last few weeks were completely absent from the factory before the roof collapse and now Dev, with no visible help in the shop, can spend ages in the pub and taxi office. It must be wonderful in Coronation Street as the kids and businesses all look after themselves.

I thought this but the logistics of so many extras and the extra writing would be mind boggling.
On the flip side the lazy writers are just concentrating on minimal characters and deeper but silly stories.

Whenever ownership of the factory transfers it’s always sub £100k figures, buying in for £25k etc - that wouldn’t buy the building so who is the landlord?

I don't have a problem with Corrie at the moment, too much doom & gloom on here at the moment...smile

Regarding Carla, she KNOWS she is partly responsible for the roof collapse, she would have got it repaired but didn't have £50k lying around, so chose to go for the cheap "Gary" option at 8k, but it collapsed before he could work his magic on it. I can quite understand why she is having a full on mental breakdown in the circumstances.

Dev is often seen behind the counter, (When he is not hob knobbing with the movers and shakers at the golf club).

The "factory" in the community centre was a joke, there wasn't enough stock to pack three or four boxes from the stuff that had been sent up from Milton Keynes, but there was enough work to do to employ seven or eight people. Crackers!

I still don't know why Gary borrowed that 15K? Anybody?

You know its bad when "Monkey Boy" gives the best acting performance in an episode smile

As said Carla's "breakdown" really is cringeworthy.

Enjoyed the ‘bants’ between Dev, Tim and Steve (plus the bit with Sally at the pub). Great stuff and we need more of these for Corrie.

Not loan stark, Carla breaking down, monkey boy stealing etc boll ocks.

Agreed! The comedy and banter is what makes Corrie great. Don't mind the odd serious stuff but it is just OTT all the time.

Corrie CID out in force arresting someone for reading a H&S file or stealing it from a car... I can just see them turning out in force for that at the request of the HSE inspector who has no other work on whatsoever...
Every house in the street has a copper assigned to it tonight...

Beyond crazy storylines at present

It used to be a beautifully written tale of the life of ordinary northern folk, with a subtle emphasis on the lighter moments.

Now it's just like Eastenders.

Within one episode Kate has gone from vying for Carla's blood to being her number one sympathiser. Corry always used to have continuity. What a load of horse ste.

The Steve/Tim/Dev banter is just about keeping it going for me. The WPC who brought Rana's effects was like a giant redwood. I'm guessing the director dragged someone off the street and said "want to be on telly?"

It's bad enough to be laughable for the wrong reasons at present!
Gary is now a debt collecting roofer working for the least scary villain in Manchester. Imran is a private investigator-come solicitor who sees one client a day for 15mins.
Peter is a boat builder with no boats or income. Nick keeps finding money for businesses but doesn't seemingly work. And the HSE inspector has no other cases but the roof incident.
Will the street ever be the same again?
:-)

I nominate Kate for "Sniveler of the year" award at the Annual Soap Awards! Monkey Boy has added guilty look to his repertoire of scowling and frowning

She looks very familiar so I think she's be in quite a few TV Shows / Dramas.

That HSE chap is hilarious. Is he reading his lines of an autocue?
