Good to see Tony has his operation up and running now, definitely taken long enough!

Really hope it is Parker who hits it rich as Todd really annoys me. Can only be 1 or 2 episodes left?

Same here.

Anyone else enjoy Emily Riedel's meltdown on Gold Divers as much as I did?

If you watched the trailer for next weeks episode you will see that it is in danger of sinking

Yeah that wasn't as successful as he hoped!

Got a feeling that Todd will be the one who strikes it rich after that episode! frown

I enjoyed last nights episode so much that I had to download the season finale. I won't give anything away.

I'm guessing that they are probably a month or so into the new season that will be being filmed right now. I wonder what each of them are doing.

With parkers history, would he not be better off mining Todds claim?

I always get the feeling that a lot of the risky looking stuff is just for the cameras.

I would say your right. I was amazed they wore harnesses when working at height.

I wouldn't say that after watching Ax men.

One of the cast put his leg in the winch as it was stuck, it freed the winch which promptly mangled his ankle and shattered his knee cap.

Finally managed too see show fully for tuesdays episode. Part of me thinks this final push is not actually a final push just the show edited to look like they all downed tool to go home. Look at last year with parker amd the water cannon way passed where we are just now.

Yep, it's a complete set up. 300 oz for Hoffman and 400 oz for Parker is a drop in a bucket, it doesn't make any meaningful difference to either of them.

Did Discovery air the Freddie Dodge special? It didn't record automatically and can't find any repeats?

It's on next week at 7pm before The Dirt.

Is it just me or are all of the Hoffman crews amazing game changing ideas just basic common sense ? They must be pretty good actors by now as I don't think anyone could survive in that industry by being as stupid as they appear to be .

Really enjoyed last nights episode although annoyingly missed The Dirt which was on before. Glad to see Parker and his team stuck it out and got the gold that they wanted.

Seems Todd will be around again next year although with all the money and kit he has invested I can't see how he is happy with half the gold Parker made.

Those nuggets the Dodge crew were pulling out were insane!

My thoughts on last night's episode:

For me the rigged nature of the show really stood out in last night's episode, in 5 months of mining, Parker pulled out 2,000 Ozs, yet he somehow manages to pull out 400 Oz in one week for the finale?

And Todd manages to pull out 30% of his season total in one week? Never going to happen.

Then there's the whole nature of the "jeopardy" amounts required in the final week for each team - I fail to see how 300 Oz for Todd and 400 Oz for Parker make that much difference, claims sell for multi-million dollars, those amounts barely move the needle.

Those thoughts were underlined when you saw Todd's claim owner at their final clean up - when the results were announced he was smiling and clapping like an excited school boy and already had the claim contract drawn up for next year. Contrast with last week where he looked ready to shoot Todd for their miserly gold to date.

Finally you then have the gold handed out to Todd's crew - looked to be just shy of 50 Oz per man (was just under half one of those jars they always claim holds 100 Oz). So call it 40 Oz. Say there are 6 guys on the crew (excluding Todd and Dave), so that's 240 OZ. They made 1,300 Oz and had to give the claim owner 20%, so that's another 260 Oz. They owe 300 Oz to Freddie Dodge for Big Red. So, we have:

1,300
(240)
(260)
(300)
500

So, that's 500 Oz remaining to cover running costs and Todd and Dave's profit - bearing in mind Dave put in $500K to buy into the partnership and that was supposedly all spent on leasing equipment, then you have a net $0 return for Dave and Todd before running costs.

From Parker we know that running costs can add up to $10k per day - so you have to conclude that Todd made a massive loss from the mining over the seaosn, potentially millions of dollars.

I noticed one of Parker's jars was "Georgia Moon".

Not surprised he pranged his truck earlier in the season.
hehe
