Nah, didn't get it either. They usually have one of their animated vids to explain the advantage, last it really didn't.
I'm not sure how many episodes are left, but it seems to be losing a bit of steam.
Rather than the rarely seen GF causing issues within Parker's team, I suspect it'll be his Ego v Rick's performance - they tend to telegraph this stuff. "Rick's Gold, well it's still my Gold".
Todd will do a lot better, until his Ego tells him he's the Boss and bites the hand that feed him, Freddie.
Tony, stiill a twunt to anyone who's not a close relative - Dredge breaks, 30 seconds after they've man handed it onto a truck he's ready to sack his entire workforce, rather than spend a penny on them whilst the kit is repaired. Nothing on Earth would make me work for him.

I don't really get the idea of Parker's super long conveyor belt - from what I understand, it moves dirt out of the cut to the edge of the cut and so saves you using a rock truck, but you have to move the dirt to it in the first place and then pay to run it?
Is it really worth investing $300k in?
I thought that, too.Is it really worth investing $300k in?
and once the dirt has piled up on the top side, you have to move it away.
So a saving on two rock trucks' worth of diesel, two guys deployed elsewhere, etc.
Once up there it'll be left until they're ready to fill in the cut, and it'll just be shoved back in to fill in the hole.
Found it odd there were no grizzly bars though.
As for the lack of grizzly bars - I thought you only got big rocks when you're close to bedrock, which is also where the paydirt is. So moving overburden only you wouldn't need them (that's backed up by all the mud Parker was slinging through it)?

Thanks Sway, that makes it little clearer - although surely the savings aren't that great as you still need a man and diesel to run/drive the conveyor - so you're only saving one rock truck and driver's costs, in reality? I guess every little helps, but it doesn't seem groundbreaking?

Pretty sure the excavator operator moves the conveyor every once in a while, as the reach of an excavator is pretty big so it'll take a while before it and the belt need shifting. As for the lack of grizzly bars - I thought you only got big rocks when you're close to bedrock, which is also where the paydirt is. I've had a little experience with long conveyors, whilst big rocks are an obvious problem, having 'lumps' on a long one causes issues - borne out by last nights seizing. I'd have thought rather than 'going slower' a shaker or grizzly setup would help break the chunks up and give greater loading capacity.

The other problem is that it was very wet and sticky clay. Dry stuff would have run much better. Easternlight said:
A very flattering photo, but what need to remember is in a few years time you'll be waking up next to this
FFs man I don't want to marry her and spend the rest of my life with her. I couldn't give a st what her mum looks like. Do you ask to see photos of every girls' mum before you'd consider spending three minutes disappointing them? Yes it is a flattering photo but I like her for her attitude. Nice to see a woman that doesn't spend two hours applying fakery every day before doing her work.

So, for those of us watching on Sky, it looks like we're going to have to find an alternative way of viewing from next week (and even for tonight, unless you can watch it live/before midnight).
