Todd finds a nugget and opens another claim...sounds familiar.
If that ground was that rich there would be another, proper Gold rush! You wouldn't need a trommel, just a metal detector.....youngsyr said:
I may be way off the mark here, but I recall reading something years ago about turbo charged engines coping better with altitude than their N. A. counter parts as the turbo can make up for the thinner air somewhat.
They can, but take the same engine regardless of type and the fuel consumption will be higher at altitude to achieve max potential performance. A forced induction engine will have a lower delta between peak performance at altitude versus sea level. youngsyr said:
The producers are just getting lazy, they did the exact same story with High Bar in Colorado last year. Hoffman found nuggets just lying around on the ground, but when they came to mine it, no gold to be found.
Hoffman chose the ground and ran a test run of 90 yards, so while I suspect you are right, there is a small possibility they haven't been tricked into starting this for next year.siwil1 said:
Interesting to see the comparison between the cost of dredge gold V mined gold, You can see why Tony is investing in them again. Next season will see him getting it remapped to produce more yardage p/h !

No mention though of the $1 million+ the dredge cost in in the first place though.Todd finds a nugget and opens another claim...sounds familiar.

I'm surprized Todd was having so many problems at 13,000ft - I've only been as high as 11,000ft whilst on the ground, other than it being pretty cold for the middle of summer, I couldn't feel the difference from being at sea level, I was riding a bike at the time, he does of course "have some way to go with is personal fitness", as my old PE teacher used to say.
I think the dramatic split between Parker and Rick is a given, it's been hinted at for ages, and they're really portraying Parker in the worse possible light this year.
I don't think Dave and Freddie will leave Todd, although they really should, if they had any sense they'd dump him and his Fricken Dad in a deep hole and tell the world Bears got them. I think once and only once they let Dave be in charge, he did everything right, made all the sensible decisions, but it didn't work out due to poor ground, since then he's never been trusted again - being lucky, more important than being right in Team Idiot.

It's scripted as all hell...When the belt split and Rick went to see Parker, Parker's responses could have come out of Tony's mouth. Syntax, content, delivery - all exactly the same.

I have been at 13,000 feet and you can feel the difference. It can catch you out as well. On a side note, cigarettes lasted for ages. Probably not a good combination, altitude and smoking but I was curious to find out. Stumbled across an article that reports Todd's operation as having undertaken mining operations beyond the boundary of the Fairplay mine and a fine was issued of $35k to the owners - another naïve or just plain stupid act by these numpties.

Todd's weigh-ins always look like there's some gravel and road scrapings mixed in.
I've noticed that. There's a suspicious amount of black st in what's supposed to be gold isn't there? Funnily enough Parker and the Beets's weigh-ins look pretty much gold coloured. There has always been a slight difference but it was massively obvious last night. I remember when someone got some bars made in a previous series that there is a certain amount off loss in the smelting process, I guess Todds would be a lot higher than the others
So what's odd about the last couple of weeks.... Parker and ricks operation. If rick is picking 100 ounces or so for a weeks work, and Parker is pulling a massive 450 ounces, why the heck don't they just work parkers area until it's fully used up, as there's only a couple of weeks left until winter?
Surely if one area has massively richer deposits they should just go after that?
