So what's odd about the last couple of weeks.... Parker and ricks operation. If rick is picking 100 ounces or so for a weeks work, and Parker is pulling a massive 450 ounces, why the heck don't they just work parkers area until it's fully used up, as there's only a couple of weeks left until winter?

Surely if one area has massively richer deposits they should just go after that?
There's the issue of Tony's cut - once they go over a certain amount on Parker's claim, the percentage to Tony goes up quite a bit.

So it may be that whilst they're getting less actual gold, the profit margin may be higher.

Are they not also running both plants at 100%?

You can't just run more of Parkers claim if the plant on site is already running 24/7 and your other plant is miles away.

This. Parker leased 2 locations once he realised he would be paying Tony a much larger cut for over 3000 ounces (or some similar figure) at location 1. However 2 separate locations worked out much less, even though they are both Tony's claims.

My read between the lines is that the second operation is gold laundering. They are avoiding being penalized by Tony too much by saying they are finding the gold in the other mine.

That's a pretty serious allegation to make without any proof.

Parker would be open to a civil legal action and possibly a criminal action too if he was doing this.

Calm down boys. Parker is welcome to sue me if he wishes. But, watch the shows again with my speculation in mind.

I can see why you might think that, but it is a bit like moon landing hoaxes, when it comes down to it, it is just easier to do the job for real rather than fake it and risk problems. From what I gather, the land was known to be relatively rich in gold, they had the spare wash plant and it would be a good deal for the film companies, twice the jeopardy, aggro between the two guys running them, competition etc etc. In fact, I'm surprised he didn't make more of the second site.

Parker is already doing well enough that he could probably live off the money he has made, when you add in the free trucks, facilities fees, and subtract the manpower.

Will be interesting to what the producers come up with to spruce it up for next season. This one was a little "run of the mill" even with the Hoffmans mining in two completely new areas. Parker is far too much of a businessman to provide much excitement (beyond his petulant rants!) and Tony seems to be aiming for "more of the same".

Would be great to catch up with Dustin and Fred if they're even still mining - would be a great comparison between the size of the operations and will show just how far some of the crews have come.

Something like this then?

I suspect most of Parker's rants are put on for the cameras. Earlier this season they showed something going wrong (I forget exactly what), Parker apparently went off on one, and then just said "yeah whatever, fix it" and was totally matter of fact about it all, no biggie. I'm sure this is a shock to you all wink
