I'm expecting it to be more of the same old fake drama from the same characters doing the same thing they've been doing for the past 3 series now. My hopes are not high. frown

No but without a doubt i'll be tuning in as always. Signifies the start of winter nights for me. That and deadliest catch.

Cheers guys smile

Will keep an eye out. As we have Now TV and not Sky, we tend not to catch many adverts for upcoming programmes, unless someone posts on here!

New series starts tonight on Discovery.

At least, I hope it's new, and not just the same as the last series.

Watched the first episode last night, lots of stuff happening and finally seems like they are starting right at the beginning of the season.

Always seems to me that they extend into the winter and struggle but don't turn up perticularly early and work hard at the start too.

Todd, such a dick, but hanging up on Parker was class.

Was it explained why Parker seemed to concentrate only on getting big red up and running first rather than Slucifer? Surely if he only wanted to run one, Slucifer would be more productive, or is he waiting to move Slucifer in to Tony's back garden? I can see Tony causing Parker some obstacles this year. I'd have thought someone as seemingly shrewd as Tony would have sewn up rights to as much of the land around his operation as possible, or perhaps all his resources are tied up in the dredges.

Loved some of the stuff Parker was coming out with "Todd couldn't find Gold in a jewelry store". Just hope it doesn't come back to bite him.

I'm guessing that Parker is setting up the smaller plant on Tony's claim so that he pulls less gold there and pays the higher royalty on it.

As for the ground around Tony's dredge claim - it's not "dredgable", so not much use to his present set up. He also mentioned that there's no water access to that claim without his permission to pipe it across his existing claim, so he has sewn it up in a way.

Really enjoyed the first episode, but it's all new and exciting. Once we get into the business as usual sluicing churn, I hope it doesn't become stale.

The staging for the show is becoming more and more obvious though - suddenly Todd can't operate an excavator or assembly a plant that he himself admitted he'd done several times before and all the experienced miners are more than happy to follow orders from an 18 year old noob. rolleyes

I dare say there's more than a little manipulation in Parker mining in Tony's backyard too.

Parker's going to have problems slipping in and out of Tony Beets' narrow passage without him noticing....

That land only being accessed through Tony's camp that is.

Are you really saying there’ll be a cliff hanger at the end of one of the next few episodes before Tony ******* Beets allows Parker to pump water across his land in return for X ounces of gold.

There is on Sky - I think it's bundled in with some other channels, but I doubt you'll get ahead of the broadcast episodes (episode 2 is on Tuesday).

You can watch them on the discovery website, though you will need a proxy.
