It appears to have stopped at episode 13 - 2/3rds through the season
Looks like episode 14 is on next week according to my planner, maybe just a couple week break over Christmas.youngsyr said:
Anyone still watching?
Looks like there could be a few changes this year, but some things remain the same - Parker is pushing on to ever bigger operations, which should be interesting.
I thought we got a new crew too this year, but no sign of that in episode 1?

Real cliffhanger of an ending in the first episode!

Unfortunately I spoiled that months ago on Reddit. Frankly I'm amazed they managed to keep it a secret that long.

I cant get a reply to my texts so I am going to my mates house with a camera crew to make sure he's ok.
Only two cameras, mind!
Plus it's the beginning of the season, everyone else is shovelling 6ft of snow to get mining, but these guys turn up on a warm summers day with no sign of any snow anywhere.
Just the usual Gold Rush BS.

Well I enjoyed the first episode, but the continuity errors seem worse than ever and I couldn’t help but notice them all the time.
I know it’s never been a particularly polished production… but this episode was so bad. When a cast member does a ‘speaking to the camera’ piece, loads of obvious stuff will change. The car/excavator they are driving, the weather outside, the scenery, the hat they are wearing… and yet they tack it together like it’s one single piece.
We’ve all gotten used to the cheesy crap such as the fake noises of diesel engines revving, and fake air horn noises on trucks, but sometimes they just stoop too low with the production values
Oh well, I’ll keep watching as always!

Just wondering what people's thoughts are now we're coming to the end of the season?
I find myself skipping Fred and the Clayton parts and quite often Dave too.
I'm not really sure what Dave ever brought fo the show? 13 years and still hasn't made a success of it.
I'd much rather watch more of Freddie Dodge and Juan's mine rescue.
Meanwhile Parker and Tony just keep trucking on, although it seems more and more likely that we'll never see the Dredges operating again.

I'm a bit behind but only Parker and some of Tony's bits interest me know. Seeing the others continuously struggle is not fun and quite depressing.
Parker's crew is just unbelievable and rock solid. I also get the impression that he invests a lot in making sure things are reliable. Tony just has 100s of old machines and keeps rotating them / stealing bits as required.

I think it’s interesting seeing the two ends of the spectrum.
I’m sure far more people go bust doing this than making a fortune.
Just seeing people succeed is boring. Tony and Parker work
Like a well oiled machine generally, and many of their problems are certainly setup. Tipping that old wash machine off the low loader on the bend was pure tv setup in my view.
Fred got on my tits for weeks and weeks but he’s starting to give the show real human interest. He’s going to go bust and lose everything I’m sure.
I miss Rick. Why did he leave the show do we know?

I think he had SAD after the last season - hopefully, he will manage to sort himself out and come back for next season as I like(d) him and his crew of mates.I got the feeling that Clayton and Brandon were drafted in to bridge the gap that Rick left, especially as Fred's operation clearly wasn't going to fill enough screen time and there is only so much Parker and Tony you can film pulling hundreds of ounces per week, even with the faux-dramas.
Still one of my favourite shows though

I really feel for him - must be very hard being that isolated for 6 months and responsible for a big operation that runs long hours 7 days a week.
I hear rumours he may be coming back. I certainly hope he does as I like him and his crew.
Clayton and his crew were almost certainly last minute filler for Rick. They didn't have any of the build up that you'd expect of a brand new crew. Rick's exit was also hastily put together.
There's a lot going on behind the scenes in the show, e.g. the Claytons had previously appeared on Freddie Dodge's show and mine literally next door to Fred. That's no coincidence, IMO.
Parker, Tony and Rick all mined very close together too, like on adjoining claims.

I would have agreed about the wash plant accident if it weren't for Mike's reaction - I don't think he's that good an actor!I’m sure far more people go bust doing this than making a fortune.
