I think that Jordan is a bit of a tt. I reckon the old Scottish bloke will be a dark horse. He has played it simple so far, you wait and see. Bread next week, I reckon he will be ace at that.
Dunno, his Dad owned a bakery apparently. As posted earlier he is playing the "keep it simple and don't screw up" strategy for the first few weeks. Maybe he will struggle with more complicated designs later on. His Zulu boats were basically a bit carp really.
My prediction is semi-final between Richard, Luis, Martha and Nancy.

Agree the Zulu boats were crap, the baskets of fish were overlooked I think.
Yep so given that they are working through the obligatory contestant categories of batst crazy and just not got a fricking clue who will be next?
They are giving Norman the strong signal that he will have to up his game.
Which in a way is a shame as there is definitely a place in the world for solidly competent bakers to provide consistent plainer, but tasty,
grub without the need to resort to gold leaf and camel excreted cardamon pods.

So true, but I'm afraid he is gone next week unless he ups his gameThey are giving Norman the strong signal that he will have to up his game.

i don't know, he messed up a bit as it was plain but also poorly cooked. those farley biscuits or whatever they were called were probably the plainest biscuits that exist, and yet he got a lot of praise for them. I hope there's still room for simple done well as the competition progresses, i'd like to see him stay.
The programme risks favouring an issue that pisses me off in various examples in real life, the failing of style over substance.
The technical bake is the technical bake and no room to faff about.
The showstopper, then fair enough, the brief is showstopper and an elaborate design or look is part of that, but it's only one element and, in my opinion, equal but no greater importance to flavour and execution of the bake.
The signature bake is their choice, if plain and simple but well executed is their signature then so be it.
Time and again they have criticised for simplicity in the signature dishes whilst at the same time acknowledging the taste and execution was good. Last year they kept Frances (iirc) in right to the final when she kept doing all the fancy presentations with designer props yet completely missed baking something that was tasty.
So in short, criticism for too simple on showstopper Iis fair enough, but same for signature is not on and pandering to style over substance and not being consistent. In which case Berry and Hollywood you can FRO.
