Better Call Saul - Prequel to Breaking Bad

I was expecting Nacho to be killed this season. His story sort of lost steam and was forgotten about half way through the season.
Pretty sure he's marked. Lola did have a private conversation with Hector in which I've guessed Nacho is under the microscope.I liked the instant switch to Saul in the last scene. Wasn't sure if it was coming then or being strung out. They could've ended the whole show right there leaving us hanging to fill in our own blanks but at least we get one season of Saul being Saul development and the Fring/Mike/Salamanca story.
Am I right in thinking that the Salamanca's have fingers in the meth factory pie - Fring doesn't have that business to himself at least until he sorts out the other Don (or Don's) in BB? I'm just thinking that Lalo figures it out going forward.

The issue has been that the Salamancas ran production and Fring ran distribution and border crossings. If the Salamancas discover Fring is gearing up for production, poo will fly everywhere.(unless I grossly misread the situation)

Yes you are right, Fring is muscling in and trying to sideline the Salamancas.(unless I grossly misread the situation)

Nacho is alive at the start of Breaking Bad, supposedly in hiding in Canada. Jimmy says "It wasn't me it was Ignacio (Nacho)", thinking that Lalo had sent hitmen after him when Walt and Jesse kindnap him. Edited by DMN on Thursday 11th October 09:34

Nacho's henchman Krazy-8 is in season 1 of BB

I like to think we will get a flash forward to 'Gene' picking up Kim from prison after being there for the entire duration of BB while he earned enough money for them to start a new life by any means necessary. Maybe with little Christy from the last episode, now a qualified lawyer, representing her at her parole hearing.
I would like to see that, but I doubt we can hope for anything near as cheerful.

Nice article on BCS here from the Grurniad:

Love the enthusiasm but BCS isn't up to Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad had enough character study - not as much as BCS but enough. BCS lacks the action and thrill element and because it ONLY has the character study element to play on, it's doubled down on that element. BB was a more balanced show and had more tension and grit. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/oct/...

Bit late to the party on this one but I finally finished BCS season 3, binged on the second half of the season. It's so good.
How many seasons are planned? Mike is looking old.

“Better Call Saul” has a plan for Gene Takovic, and it will likely factor into the “Breaking Bad” prequel’s ending, series lead Bob Odenkirk says.
“I think they intend to take that character somewhere and land it,” Odenkirk told TheWrap.
Each season of “Better Call Saul” begins with a brief, black-and-white vignette following Saul Goodman after the events of “Breaking Bad,” which sees him struggling to live an uneventful life as the manager of an Omaha-area Cinnabon. “It would be something that they would want to resonate through Gene’s life as he comes to terms with his inability to stay undercover.”
