Yep, no mid-season breaks like Walking Dead, that's it - 42 weeks to learn about all the things that sort of half-happend in the finale.

I still like it, I'm already looking forward to S3, but the first whiff it's going to be like 'Lost' constantly cliff-Hanging *something* amazing just around the corner that never comes and I'm off.

I really enjoyed that. I like how they have taken Jimmy's relationship with his brother from a side aspect to a central theme. We started out thinking that Chuck just found him irritating, from there it's been shown to be more pathological and I end up wondering just how deep that goes.

My prediction for next season - Jimmy has Chuck killed.
Nah, Jimmy has Chuck committed I reckon. He loves his brother too much to have him killed, and he can get him in a mental home quite easily.

FWIW I thought this season was excellent. Even though not a lot of exciting stuff happened, it happened extremely well.

In fairness all the great shows appear to have incredible penultimate episodes and then set up the following season with the last one!
(Yes GoT - I am looking at you...)

But seriously - WHO THE fk JUST STOPPED MIKE?
Must be Gus - BUT HOW???
No one in the whole of Mike's varied career has been able to track him staking someone else out surely.
And then sneak up... in the desert?
Oh, and with plain good luck stalling the whole thing with where Nacho stood...
Mad.
Unless Nacho was in on it and knew Mike's exact position and happily put himself in the line of fire, just in case Mike (the guy WITH A SNIPER RIFLE) actually has a heart of gold...

It's quite possible Gus has his own issues with Hector and wants to deal with them in his own way. Somebody ends up making him a bitter bellringing old bd.

SPOILERS.

I've loved this show since the first episode, and have raved about it to all and sundry.

But the last episode was massive let down. Offensively so, I think.

You don't coil a story up like that and have it fizzle out in the hope of snagging a third season (assuming that's what was happening). Mikes arc was almost Jidaigeki in tone and trajectory. To neuter his motivation just to introduce a new character is fking criminal in itself!

I sometimes appreciate open endings... the ones that openly fly in the face of an expected resolution. But here it was just... MEH.

And Chuck's cunning... for the love of God. A wry smile crept over my face as Jimmy was in the copy shop. Didn't see it coming, great writing. But to further the intricate feud, that's been bubbling over two seasons, with a tape recorder... Oh for fk sake. Try harder!

Just for the avoidance of doubt, I was (am) a massive, massive fan of this show.

This tallies with my point of view. Difficult to entirely put my finger on as generally I've been happing soaking up the pace and atmosphere, but I was certainly hoping for a bit more from a finale.

Saul is a very experienced operator in BB so had clearly been working at that level for a few years. So we have plenty of scope in the canon timeline for him to be nearly Saul by now. Still seems a ways off.

Hector Salamanca (ding ding!)

The truck driver Mike duct-taped and robbed.

Probably Gus but not 100% clear.

The best bit for me was after Saul's big event, the TV ad the next ad was for someone called Weasel. Hilarious, his big moment as as soon as his face is off the screen the word Weasel pops up.

I thought 'Jimmy's' last few minutes was the finest acting I've seen from Odenkirk. Very fine work that man.

We are all talking about plot, cinematography, etc. Check out the acting!

Just finished S2. Very good overall. When's is this supposed to be set ? Early naughties ? I see everyone has flip phones and glass CRT TVs, but big flat screen PC monitors. Annoying continuity/staging type error. Same with Jimmy's "2nd Best Lawyer" travel mug. That's Cafe Press's 16oz travel mug, with opposing flip up handle and stopper (note I have no connection with Cafe Press, just a satisfied customer);

The neatest and most wartertight travel mug invented. Unless you have Mercedes cup holders ?

Am I over thinking this ? Am I better off on the picture that make your teeth itch thread ? confused

Its about 5 years before BB. Flip phones are still popular in the States today, believe it or not. Most cheap PAYG phones are still flip, I bought one last year to use while on holiday to keep in touch with my US friends without burning international charges.
