I've never liked Alice. Quite possibly because I knew a couple of girls just like her when I was in my 20's?

Ahh, another storyline to watch out for then.

I'm only just caught up from last week... Isn't the funeral today? Last I heard, Will "isn't going" to the funeral.... The thing that irritates me about this part of the story is that while this is tragic, I just don't believe the way that Will is acting around it.

Stephen Mangan was very funny re: The Archers on last night's Room 101 - now on iPlayer.

I've got the omnibus to download tomorrow but surely it's just a matter of time before the truth about the contamination comes out??

Indeed (something I rarely watch these days; the format has changed somewhat over the years) I was awaiting a good Tamsin Greig jibe, but it never came!

Well brothers and sisters, I demand a management investigation into this obvious skullduggery involving the Archers. Is she a union member?
or a black leg? My members want an answer! I think we should be told!

Is it just me and Mrs Doofus who have developed a real fear of sepsis? I'm a keen car tinkerer, and she's a gardener. I've gone and bought protective gloves (because somebody on another thread told me you get porous as you age, or somesuch) and all kinds of stuff, and so has she.

These days, we're forever running into the house for Savlon, clean water, plasters and the like. Before Nic popped off, I wore cuts and scratches like badges of honour. Dirty fingernails were a Monday morning sign of a weekend well spent. Now, my medals are plasters and micropore and my fingernails look more like those of a tailor than a mechanical bodger.

I may be in danger of developing a washing OCD. Please say we're not alone.

You will both die. Probably not from sepsis. Most likely heart disease, then dementia.

The boring answer is this.

We've been a bit the same tbh, especially my other half. The problem with sepsis is that most of the time, a mucky cut on your finger is no big deal. But knowing that 1 in a 1000 times (or whatever) it could actually kill you is a sobering though.

I picked up Cellulitis a couple of years back and it hit me like a train. I was hospitalised, put on IV antibiotics and had a temperature of 42 degrees. I was a step away from Sepsis. Not a nice thing to contract.
