I've had sepsis. Going to casualty with a swelling and high temperature which as the doctor examined me turned into violent shivers, sweats, racing pulse was disconcerting. This then became bloody alarming when the on call ICU consultant comes down, has a look and hey presto I'm wheeled into ICU with a crowd of nurses attaching IV lines, sorting out humidified oxygen and worst of all, putting in a line so they could do regular gas analysis blood tests. Temperature hit 41.5.

Thankfully a few days of kick ass antibiotics being piped in intravenously did the trick.

Yep - I have a fistula, plus am on immunosuppression due to pulmonary fibrosis. This meant an internal infection was able to develop.

Life can really kick you, hard, in the nuts sometimes.

Blimey. frown I don't know what much of that means, but I feel a bit faint...

Google it - I won't go into detail on here as it is a bit icky.

Yeah... Not going to happen wink I'm happy to remain in queasy ignorance, I think.

I picked up Cellulitis a couple of years back and it hit me like a train. I was hospitalised, put on IV antibiotics and had a temperature of 42 degrees. I was a step away from Sepsis. Not a nice thing to contract.
My ex got bitten by something a couple of years ago and her foot swelled up like a balloon and was painful and wasn't far off sepsis...

On topic - Am I the only one annoyed by the drug dealing storyline?

Lilly and Freddy are both really annoying just at the moment.

Maybe somebody should consider slinging them into Brian's Toxic Pool Of Shame.

On top of Kate.

I'm finding that one of the more entertaining ones, I'm sure it's going to end very badly for Freddie. Alistair's endless self-pity on the other hand...

Freddie will hopefully find himself as someone's bh when he gets sent down for drug dealing.

Alistair is going to start gambling again I reckon.

You have to have some sympathy though. He gets his life back into a more or less decent place, then both of the females that affect his life the most kick him in the goolies, without provocation. Leaving him near enough broke and homeless. I’d be wallowing in self pity if it happened to me.

I'm still a week behind, so bear with me. My views:

  • I can't see Rex leaving
  • Lily having the scales fall off her eyes
  • Kate is bludgeoned to death for being an annoying arse
  • Alistair and Shula get back together after Alistair gambles away a ton of money - It all comes out and Shula dumps him properly
  • The farm is sold to Justin who aims to develop it in to flats
  • The affordable housing is all removed
  • Freddie is caught dealing, but finds himself set up for a much higher charge
Some of these may more be wishful thinking on my part...

I on the other hand would shag Lavinia (is that what she is called?) repeatedly until a better option comes along smile

What are the odds that Lily will plough her exams as well as having her heart stamped on by Russ? And that just to rub salt into the wound, Freddie passes?

There are too many 're-runs' going at present;

Lily and her tutor - been there before (Helen iirc?)

Family house up for sale/end of an era (Brookfield last time)

Etc etc. Perhaps all soaps do this - there are only so many story lines. We'll have Nick waking from her dream next week...
