Wow, seriously this is the best thing on TV, easily. Series 1 was ok but series 2 is stellar. The last 3 episodes have been as good as anything else I've watched.

If you haven't watched them, get cracking!

This just got rather weird on series 2!

I'm on episode 8 at the moment, should be interesting to see where they can go from here...

Yup, The leftovers is great. This series was even better than the last and finished on a fantastic last episode.

Without giving away too much does anything happen in the 2nd series?

I mean people disappeared and it was good but ultimately it was just people coming to terms with it. Does it actually go anywhere?

Interested to know this too as I haven't bothered with S2 yet. S1 seemed open ended going nowhere like the original story it's based on was, did S2 change this?

I am sure I got through the first episode of season 2, where it started with some prehistoric prolog that was difficult to fathom. I don't think we watched any more, although the first season was intriguing.

The show is all about 'coming to terms with' and how society reacts/changes as a result of "The Sudden Departure" - the creators of the show have straight up said that it will never be explained.

That said, lots of stuff did happen in S2, including some heavy hints at supernatural stuff going on. Or maybe not, there were also rational explanations proposed.

It was simply great TV. Gripping, emotional, thought provoking. Fantastic characters and acting.

Just remember before you watch it that you are not going to get any answers about the mystery of how and why 2% of the World's population simultaneously vanished into thin air.

I just finished the third and final series. While it largely hurt my brain and some bits never made much sense to me something of the vanishing event was explained. Not how or why, but a bit more about what had happened beyond the 2% vanishing.

I'm a bit late to the party on this one but have watched all 3 seasons over the last week or so. It was great in parts but I have no bloody clue what happened at the end.

Watched 4 episodes, thought 'WTF' and then read this thread. End of watching!
