Agreed. EV's and conversation about them leave me cold. As this thread is naturally all about me, dance, monkeys! biggrin

That RR has moved on notably.

C£3k for the labour and materials so far.

Paint it’s a big car - this will be interesting given it will be prep and paint charge.
Really good to see the pricing of such jobs

I just switched off for a couple of days. It's easy for a thread to go off topic. They usually come back on topic again. With HG - usually when he does a new video.

Saw that spring up yesterday but ran out of time to watch. Despite its lack of value/performance blah blah blah I actually find that one of the more interesting cars on his fleet. A pleasingly honest car being loved and enjoyed. Hope we see another road trip in it as the arctic circle one was fantastic.

Agreed, there’s something very satisfying about it.

Or woman, Rich. It is 2021. wink. And they should have finished the house work by late afternoon.

Nice to see Harry using different garages around the country for each project. Though I can imagine if they all went to one place he'd have all the bays blocked out for a few months laugh

Harry, very much enjoyed yours and Charlie's take on your GR Yaris, great idea for Father's Day too! I resisted the urge to test drive one when they came out, but if they do bring out an Evo version, I might just have to see what all the fuss is about.

Which begs the question....if you were in my position with a Porsche Cayman 987.2 as your daily driver (and only ever used on A and B roads across the Cotswolds, such is my commute) should you swap it for a GRY?

Thanks for the kind comments, we enjoyed doing it too. As for deciding between your current Cayman and the GR Yaris, that's a hard call because they are quite different cars. Plus points for the Yaris are it's smaller, feels quicker (thanks to the turbo motor) and is the car of the moment. Cayman scores points for that fab NA motor, being a Porsche and its top end performance.

I'm always a fan of trying new things, though, so I'd swap into the Yaris for a bit and if it turns out it's not for you then it would be easy to sell it again and get back into a Cayman. There always seems to be plenty available! What I wouldn't do is wait to see if there's an evo version of the Yaris about to appear, I think you'll be in for a long wait and if does appear, it might only be available in Japan anyway. I'd go try a current GR Yaris now and then, if you like it, do the swap in time for the winter months when it would be better to live with than the Cayman anyway.

Just watched the father son GR video Harry, thoroughly enjoyed it and your son is clearly a chip off the old block. I appreciate he has had great access to cars through you but he explains his thoughts well regardless of age and some more joint videos on cars you both use would be very welcome. The bronze wheels look great too.

Thanks Harry, much appreciated smile I agree with your thinking, so I best get a test drive booked....

Harry, really enjoyed the fathers day special. Are there any plans to do a side by side feature with your previous hot hatch.....the Clio Trophy and your new GR Yaris?

I know the Trophy got a brief mention in the video but your Trophy review with your supercars in the background remains one of my favourite to this day and which also part influenced me to get my 182.

It would be great I think to do a side by side feature especially as going by the GR Yaris forum, quite a few supercar owners now own a GR Yaris which shows a similar appreciation for small hot Hatches amongst more exotic car owners.

The sheer violence of that got a fuuuu.. from me.

But no, what proper petrolheads would rather see is a two ton 150bhp hydrogen fuel cell car whining gently up the road, that would be much more exciting.

Double Harry today! Haven't watched the Garage video (yet) because it's not really a car I'm interested in at all, but the Farm video was very good. The science and politics side is really interesting, as well as some mucking about with the animals. I could happily watch a lot more of that.

I'm very much on the same side with the overly fussy/fake Type R. Real pity you can't get that power train in a normal bodyshell.

There's been rumblings of Toyota doing a GR power train in the Corolla, which if true, may be a more direct Civic competitor?

I’m also unable to see past the Civic style. I suppose the standard version is pretty fussy to start with so after more tinsel this is what you get.
I dread to think how difficult it is to clean and dry!

As for the meat/climate thing, I keep saying we need more exposure for Harry and his research. Instead of all the misinformation
