Watching the Silverstone live auctions on YT, very interesting!

The slightly crusty 1970 Volvo 1800E Coupe sold to a 'Harry' in the audience.....have you gone for another restoration project then?! Great news if you have hehe
Just catching up on the auction on YT. Wouldn't be surprised if Harry did get it - he must have a great relationship with a few restoration guys, given the Lancia, Rolls etc, and he was clearly enamoured with it in the walkaround. Would be a fantastic addition, especially as the Esprit has gone. That interior could be beautiful...

Come on Harry, spill the beans! biggrin
Some wonderful cars there, I do enjoy these auction videos. Loved those Fords. I see Iain Tyrell had a ‘old out yer ‘and moment with Mike Brewer on his Citroen SM on behalf of a client. That’ll make a good video.

GTA M awesome in that green.
Mind you I’d take either car. I’m not fussy lol

Same here, the thing is that the project 8 is so bespoke that it justifies the price tag, the Alfa is stunning but the price hike over the standard car is bonkers, I am sure you could put a titanium system on the standard car and have as much fun.

Really great video

I saw one at the weekend. The NEC lighting isn't the best, but that colour was stunning.

No purchases were made over the weekend! There were a few tempting deals out there but I want to enjoy the cars I have more, before even considering another restoration project.

Both were terrific cars but the fact there's a regular QF in the Giulia range doesn't help the case for the super expensive GTAm version. I thought the Alfa would walk this comparison but not so, the chassis basics on the P8 are remarkable and it continues to surprise me 4 years after launch.

I really enjoyed the Alfa vs Jag video - I was also really surprised when you switched over to the Jag, as I thought the Alfa was going to have made mincemeat of it!

A standard Alfa QF seems good enough .... but fair play for the GTAm version ... at least someone out there is still making bonkers cars, even if they don't hit the mark

By comparison, Chris Harris and the Top Gear boys thought the Giulia GTAm was excellent.

To be fair, nobody is saying it isn't. It's just very expensive.

Sorry, I took 'they don't hit the mark' to mean it wasn't good.

I'd trust Harry's opinion over the TG light entertainment version every day of the week TBH

Indeed although I'm sure people realise that Chris Harris can drive quickly...

Quite impressed he was only a second slower than Lando in the McLaren, partly explained by Lando had never driven whichever model it was and was booting it round the corners whereas I guess Chris had a bit more experience with it. Even so....

Harry, if you’re reading this, any interest in doing a video on Flemke’s McLaren F1?

From the Flemke, is this your McLaren thread:
