For a 4 door saloon that is seriously quick, looked very planted and stable as well even without the rear wing.

I always thought 200mph needed miles and miles to get there, each incremental MPH over about 180 needing a while to arrive. Not the P8, that just kept climbing and climbing - I had no idea it was that much of a weapon.

He's really selling that car (shame Jag couldn't), I'd love to have one, just for the noise.

As mentioned earlier, gone from being rather dismissive of the Project 8 to thinking it is great. Perhaps in part to no rear wing also, making it a bit more subtle (and nicer looking). (Was the ‘touring’ boot a later addition to this car). I think also I had it my head all the project 8s were equipped with cages and no rear seats. I find these particular concepts a bit pointless in a saloon body. (Just read that the track pack was an option)

This extra video boosted those thoughts even more. Funny how it all appears rather safe and normal ‘cruising at 150’. 200 in a saloon is impressive, but was there willing ‘more more’.

Great video but he did look a tiny bit panicked going past the police car at 150mph, that feeling would be hard to get rid of living in the UK smile

Would have been great if he had the opportunity to try it out with the rear wings to see what difference it makes.

I like that the camera person (Mrs Harry ?) thought "Bugger that for a game of soldiers. I'm having a lie in" laugh

Amazing car. Looks great without the rear wing.

Could have got 201mph if the interior temperatures were equalised! biggrin

It was faster between 150-175 than most cars 50-75.

Used to hot test those engines straight off the production line. The 5.0 supercharged versions bolted to the dyno would get through a tanker of fuel in 24hrs running just off the redline.

Fantastic video, thank you Harry, that made for some pretty tense viewing! Proves what a capable machine the Project 8 is.

Quick question for you then….you were sans rear wing for the 201mph run, was that a deliberate decision to reduce drag like you’ve talked about on the Countach? Do Jaguar mention rear aero vs front aero in such situations? (I know Porsche certainly do, they refused to sell me the larger Cayman R front splitter lips if I didn’t already have the rear spoiler fitted…personally I thought this was a load of bks laugh )

They always ran 3 or 4 at a time.
I remember an old top gear with a mclaren Mercedes. Saying a full tank of fuel would be burnt in 16 minutes if driven flat out continuously. The same engine needed 150bhp just to be able to turn the supercharger
at tick over.

Bugger that lie in. I've got some serious shopping to do. I'm fed up getting in and out of cars to film him driving up and down the same stretch of road. You'd have thought he would have got bored with it all by now. He's off today to try to break the sound barrier or some such thing. Doesn't sound very sensible to me. I've heard of a little street nearby that's lined with shoe shops. A girl can never have enough shoes. Bit like cars but less expensive. I've got some catching up to do.
