It would be interesting to know what the actual speed attained was. Having tried this sort of thing myself, a speedo read of 200mph is generally considerably more than the true speed on GPS.

I did enjoy the video though. This is the sort of automotive jounalism we should have more of!

Had to smile when he said he didn't have his camera person as his wife didn't fancy going at that speed. I'm planning a Germany trip at some point to test my car out and my Mrs immediately said 'I'm not coming with you'. Great video Harry.
Can I come?

Lol, maybe I should sell raffle tickets like the lower quality 'yoo-toobers' for a passenger seat smile

I did wonder watching Harry's video whether having 2 people in the car so balanced weight side to side would make much difference in stability although he certainly didn't seem to have any issues. Like others I didn't have much time for the Project 8 in the past but both video parts have made me reassess that. It's definitely a weapon.

That Beaujolais Run has to be the most upper middle class thing I've watched in a while. I mean I wouldn't go to my back door for a bottle of it, it's pretty nasty.

Indeed although I'm sure people realise that Chris Harris can drive quickly...
Harris and Metcalfe are just about the only motoring journos that I trust the opinion of completely. I like Harry's channel mostly because he's so likeable and properly knows his stuff, I can't think of many people better suited to review an F1 than he is, especially in the sea of lifestyle hey guuuys look at me supercar YouTubers. Harris is brilliant again because you see he's a proper car guy that gets excited over pretty normal cars like his 205 Rallye and his slightly shabby "M5" wagon. Not to mention his serious talent for driving, astounding car control. I bet they're both top guys to chat with.

Critiquing a specific variety of wine is the most upper middle class thing I've read on this forum for a while.

Bugger that lie in. I've got some serious shopping to do. I'm fed up getting in and out of cars to film him driving up and down the same stretch of road. You'd have thought he would have got bored with it all by now. He's off today to try to break the sound barrier or some such thing. Doesn't sound very sensible to me. I've heard of a little street nearby that's lined with shoe shops. A girl can never have enough shoes. Bit like cars but less expensive. I've got some catching up to do.
We're all very grateful!

The Antibes trip down the closed road didn't look much fun.

Exactly. That was worth a wardrobe full of shoes. "Darling why do you have so many pairs of shoes as you can only wear one pair at a time?" "Well why do you have so many cars then as you can only drive one of them at a time?" There's no answer. I've hit a brick wall as there's no room for another wardrobe.

Brilliant. 2 years ago I wasn't sure what to get my other half for her birthday. Her car is an X5 and she said 'a little convertible would be nice for when we haven't got the girls' (her girls live with us and their dad week on and week off). Quickly followed with 'well you have 2 cars, AND 3 motorbikes'.

She's enjoyed her Mini convertible ever since... biggrin

I think the quality of beaujolais nouveau has come along a fair bit in recent years. I know it had a bit of a ropey reputation a fair few years ago.

It's not an issue of quality. The wine has only been in maturation for a matter of days by the time it's bottles, so it's thin and has had no time for flavours to develop.

Beaujolais Nouveau isn't a good wine, and it's not really supposed to be.

Some of the best drives I have had are based around driving somewhere to get wine, schnapps, cheese, meat, poultry, shellfish. Taking my RS6 to Rungis food market with a Chef friend have been some of the best experiences I have had.
I bought 4 of those 800mm long Marine Ice boxes for the back and it was such fun going to the Market with someone who was so passionate and knowledgeable about the produce. Another run down to Italy for Cheese and wine.
Big speeds and such great times getting these time sensitive items back to people who appreciate them. The overnight high speed runs from Spain were epic

You need to borrow Harry's Project 7 and use that "special compartment" he's created.

On Flemke's thread years ago he mentioned a customs officer at the Chunnel (I think) spending ages looking over the car, poking around.

Wasn't until he'd finally exhausted everything he could pore over, Flemke got ready to drive off and opened the big side storage bins he hadn't noticed...

That is why people sail there rather than drive.
