I've done the ferry a few times now and been lucky with the relative calmness of the sea. However, we have spotted dolphin and fin whale in the morning through the Bay of Biscay, which was marvellous!
As mentioned above, Caen and a seven hour drive will get you to San Sebastián. The bonus is that you can wake up on a Monday morning in Spain, as opposed to arriving at Santander mid afternoon on a Monday. Quite a difference when half term is a consideration.

I wonder if there's an overfuelling issue with the 930 causing such poor mpg, or is that really what it gets?
Harry mentioned in the video that he'd called people up about it and they had said that the car over fuels and that's what you get out of a tuned 930 turbo, he was doing KMs to fuel used at the pumps so I guess that's what it gets. bolidemichael said:

There were Dolphins on our trip across too. The Ferry crossing times do vary, depending on the time they leave. I would avoid the ferries that leave late in the evening as then you get two nights at sea. The only upside to these 2-night crossings is you arrive in Bilbao at 8am, with a full day ahead of you but if the weather's rough, it's two nights of misery. Better to keep the sea crossing to a minimum and stay closer to the port on the first night in Spain. As mentioned above, Caen and a seven hour drive will get you to San Sebastián. You always know it’s going to be a good episode when the proper map comes out!
Enjoyed the video and usually look forward to Sundays when new ones go live. The Spanish countryside looked great.
Not sure if I missed it but did he say he’d do the F40 video soon? Would love to see that compared with a 959 like so many did back in the day.
Flemke could supply the 959, he rates Harry and Flemke has loaned his F1 and CGT plus his MK2 GT3 to Evo before.Enjoyed the video and usually look forward to Sundays when new ones go live. The Spanish countryside looked great.

The map sparked some nostalgia that I did not know I even had, I think it reminded me of holidays with my Dad. Actually made me want to use a map again.

Have also taken the car ferry from Genoa to Barcelona via the Bay of Lion and that had me lying on my bed for most of the journey. No sea legs on this landlubber... but it was very convenient to arrive in Barcelona in time for dinner.
What is your tip on approaching the ramp from an angle?

I would guess that the car is pretty low at the front so if you go straight down the ramp then the front will hit the ground, if you go at an angle then it avoids the impact, and the same going up the ramp too.M4SER said:

It's all being checked out at the moment and it turns out there was a vacuum pipe off, which would have caused it to over-fuel but I don't expect it'll ever be close to decent mpg. But then even improving to 17-18mpg would be a 40% improvement on where it was on this trip!
As i mentioned earlier in this thread, my Dad's old 3.3 930 Turbo could do around 20 mpg on a run, i think the worst was 15, best 24. It was standard though, never the less, even a modded one like you have, when not on boost should really not be much worse, unless you have a Heavy right foot Jonny TVR said:
Harry, You mention I think about the difficulty with heel and toe on your 930 .. is this a problem you also have on your Countach? I'm D111HUV's new owner and I'm struggling with the same.
I didn't understand the problem with heal n toeing, is it a peculiarity of the LHD 930? My 3.2 was a doddle to do and I imagine it is the same pedal box? I wonder if there is some adjustment in there? I have only ever driven 993 RS in LHD and that was fine to heal n toe so cant think it would be the LHD issues as the car was originally designed that way. Caddyshack said:

I know Misha has mentioned previously his difficulty in heel and toe-ing in his 993 too. Though Becky Evans has a 930 but never noticed if she H&T's. Perhaps its a foot size thing? The 930 in Spain video is fantastic.
The roads reminded me of some of the European trips I did on my motorbike, but the best bit was the car looking so amazing. The shots of it parked near the desert rocks or the paradors reminded me so much of the posters I had on my bedroom wall (many years ago!).
Thanks Harry, I really enjoyed that video.

Interesting to see what the final bill will be for the top end too. Amazing to see.
I thought those parts prices would’ve been quite a lot more on their own.Did the wear on one part put play in the other or is it just a coincidence due to power, use and age?
Very interesting video and Ian certainly knows his stuff.
