Harris! biggrin

Do you know the story about this?
Harry went to get some lunch for his journo’s, Harris sneaked this drift in whilst Harry was gone.
If that's true, then that's pretty disrespectful. Doesn't do much to improve my opinion of CH to be honest. Yes he can drive and journo at the same time, but he comes across as rude and entitled in the main. Unpopular opinion maybe but I'm just saying it as I see it.
My friend met him a few times and came away with the same opinion. I like what I have seen of him on TV but that is the producers job.
Seemed alright when I met him.

Loved the latest video, Iain and Harry always make for an enjoyable watch when they're together smile.

I too was surprised at the relatively low price of the gearbox bits.
So who’s going to have a guess at what Harry might be in for here engine out
Gearbox strip and investigation
Fix with OEM parts or fabricated parts
Full detail of engine bay engine and gearbox
Suspension refresh incl painting bushes etc
Digging deeper into the engine /heads off valve work
Something else / as you’ve gone this far you may as well - bound to be something
Rebuild
Tune
Crackle coat valve covers

I’m thinking (given we know it’s £3k alone for the fabricated gearbox bits) £15-18k.
I was thinking nearer £25k but depends on how much engine work is required.

Don’t read any of this Harry, I am sure you are going to get away with just £6k. :-)

To be fair Harris is pretty up front about being a grouchy, rude little man when interviewed.

As an audience I think it’s fair to say we are all crossing our fingers that it turns into another full on ‘whilst you’re in there’ mini-restoration hehe

Given how tricky that powertrain is to get out, might as well do everything needed whilst out…and I hear Wales can be quite a nice place to holiday anyway…

I wonder if there is a chance Harry Could try to arrange a 6 car set up

The 3 red hero’s he has and then the next ones from that era ie Diablo, 993 GT2, and then I guess for Ferrari would it be the 456 or 512TR/F512M or the 550 (not sure on the Ferrari).

Would be great to see how they perform

How finished would a lambo head be of that era? Ie a normal car of that age could be gas flowed and ported to get more power. I wonder if the factory already maximised them on the lambo or if that is something not very expensive that could be done. I am
Sure the valves are big but some port work may benefit it and I wonder if our petrol octane could be maximised with an adjustment to the compression ratio?

Watching the SF90 video, £500k with options, 1000 bhp and seeing the F40 behind with half the power but ten times the desire, from me at least...

Very true but the SF90 is a comparative bargain - what are F40’s these days £1.2m+

I might have missed it but i think Harry might have forgotten to say what problems could occur if you dont have the car battery on charge all the time ?

Have to say the Ferrari does nothing for me. Start up default being electric just increases the lack of interest factor. Option prices truly ridiculous as usual. For that money (even before options) I'd much rather have something used and more analogue like Harry's own cars, after a visit to Iain Tyrrell of course biggrin

I was at the Black Swan Pub meet in Ockham in Sunday. Many, many cars you could build a collection from for less that the price of an SF90 and have a whole lot more enjoyment. I know where my 500k would go.

Completely agree, the SF90 stirs absolutely nothing in me.

Ferrari’s are meant to look elegant and beautiful but, as Harry commented, the SF90 just looks a mess.

Every review I have seen mentions how untrustworthy the handling is at pace, the lack of involvement from the steering and that you are unable to use the bulk of the available performance at anywhere near realistic road conditions.

Therefore it’s one main selling point seems to be it is great for going incredibly fast in a straight line.

To my mind this means you may as well get a Model S Plaid, save a huge amount of money and be able to damage the necks of four of your friends at once rather than just the one.

I know it was a press car but the possibility of adding that much cost to a standard production vehicle, purely in options, is disgusting.

I can't help but be impressed with the Ferrari, the tech is genuinely amazing.

Harry's real world reviews of 500k cars are always fun.

The carbon fibre interior looks horrid, I think I'd pay not to have it, and harnesses on a road car always look ridiculous to me.

The styling is a mess, if I were super rich, the only current Ferrari I'd want is a Roma.
