I think Harry and anyone who knows or has worked for him would laugh at someone describing him as simply throwing his money around like some rich playboy.
I doubt you would Harry to lend you 50p towards buying a Twix without a 6 page strategic breakdown of the historical Twix market, your expected ROI on said Twix and whether you have given proper consideration to investing in other Twix-alike competitors.

.
You can literally hear it in Harry's voice when he talks about money/costs!
I'm really not sure how he is going to top some of his videos of the last 12/18 months. Even one of the repair/restoration videos would have been a treat.

When I saw that he was doing a 2-parter with Harry I was thrilled to watch, but in the end it disappointed me. The low sound levels were inexcusable - even turning it up all the way didn't seem to help with clarity of the discussion and of course you got blasted out of your seat when an ad intruded. But the interview itself also seemed somewhat clumsily edited and conducted.
I’d agree with the editing the videos just didn’t seem to flow. It’s almost as if they’d been edited down to achieve a particular length.? Something I’ve noticed a few times in Jonny’s car cave series too. Where whole chunks of the interview / chat just seem to vanish.
Harry and his team are much better at the technical side of creating content. Consistent sound levels, lighting that doesn’t jump around and more logical cutting. Curious at the size of the relative teams?

Google seems hell-bent on pushing viewers to the Premium version by sticking ads in at the worst possible times for non-Premium viewers. I resent what they have done to YT. But for $12/mo here in Canada I just do not see the value in it.
If you watch on my Mac using Chrome & an ad blocker, you don’t see any ads I realise that means Harry gets no money - so I hope the rest of you are watching on a TV Greg_B said:

I pay around 80p - that’s around $1.25 Canadian a month for YouTube Premium. All you need to do is get a VPN, select Argentina, Google Argentinian fake address and use that to buy YouTube Premium.Jules Sunley said:
I'm not a Porsche man but enjoyed the RS video, Harry's enthusiasm again carrying my interest.
I thought he was going to say the car was owned by Lord Bamford looking at the number plate. That plate must be worth a lot in itself - or maybe Lord B is the 'local farmer' alluded to...
It would be my guess that the ‘local farmer’ is indeed Lord Bamford I thought he was going to say the car was owned by Lord Bamford looking at the number plate. That plate must be worth a lot in itself - or maybe Lord B is the 'local farmer' alluded to...
Great video on the RS. I am somewhat biased as I had an RS rep based on a 72 E (with a 2.7 engine).
Brought back great memories. Those seats look awful but I found them really comfortable. Drove up to and around Scotland twice (from South East) and it was no problem. I did use ear plugs though!
With the Avon tyres the handling was amazing. Despite doing silly speeds it never felt unsettled in the corners. I swapped to more normal tyres when they wore out, which still worked very well but made the car a bit more comfortable and introduced a little slip of the tyres at speed.
The RS and any tuned early 911 are amazing on British A and especially B roads. Small, agile, quick even by todays standards (without being bonkers quick) and give you much more feedback than a modern car owing to lack of PAS, the manual gears that can’t be rushed, the noise and smell.
Still the most fun car I’ve driven. Only problem is that I have as much or more fun on motorbikes at a tenth of the cost (which is why I sold it).

Sound balance wasn't great. I'm not a huge 911 fan, so it was easy to switch off, I'm afraid. If I could have heard Harry talking whilst in the car, I'd have watched all of it.
I look forward to Harry's videos every Sunday and feel much the same way about this one. While it was a bit interesting to learn about a car I never heard of before, I'm not a Porschophile and so a lot of it was lost on me. It sounds like it is essentially a track car just tamed enough to make it street-legal, but with a lot of compromises for doing that, so it is essentially a competition car. The noise, the body construction and the lack of basic amenities mean that it would just barely be usable as a street car, and the value of it means that you would be risking an awful lot of money taking it into traffic. In the end, this didn't interest me, rare for a Harry's Garage video.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
