Found it interesting that the police had an infrared drone, would be a game changer if they had them standard in the boot of every police car.
So much quicker response than sending up a conventional chopper.
Wouldn't keep the local council estate awake either biggrin

Seems like this case is wrapped up tomorrow and they move onto others.

Well that was a fairly horrific watch tonight.
Fair result with the drug skanks but the chap who threw him mum off a balcony wasn't a pleasant story. The police have to deal with some horrendous incidents. A reasonable outcome in the end I suspect given the situation.

Very tough the second case. I completely understand his distress at seeing a loved one's dreadful decline but that really was an awfully violent end to a life.

Went to make tea and missed the sentencing of the gang, what did they get?

Seems odd that the subject matter changed completely to a different case with 20 minutes to go,.
Surprised the guy got away with a suspended sentence as a pillow would have been more humane, wonder if he's able to keep the inheritence as it's now proceeds of crime?

Two blokes got 26 years. The big bloke (Fatty) Stuart Pearson got 9 years, the woman got 9 years.

26 years each for the two brains of Britain who arranged and carried out the murder then 9yrs for the skanky crack woman and the fat lad who tagged along ( the one who claimed arthritis and never leaving home.)
All of them had used their own phones to plan and carry out the murder, plus little or no effort to dispose of clothing and the weapons!

Well not a big fan of the way they did all the split screen stuff. And also seemed all a bit lighthearted for all the seriousness of it.

I always thought that I'd not be bothered about a dealer getting off'd or robbed and beat up.....
I'd think they were sort of anti hero's cleaning up the filth....
Truth is the people that off the aren't nice people you'd want walking around either.....what a mess...

The really daft thing is. The lass could have run the plod and said some drug dealers had "cuckooed" her and taken over her apartment. Plod would have bunged them out and probably locked them up for dealing. Job jobbed. Then you introduce Mr violent into the apartment in case they think about coming back.

But no. Let's plan a violent altercation, and hope we get away with nothing bad happening. Sure. Good move.

The problem is:-

One man was killed.

Four people are going to prison for a total of - possibly - seventy years. At a conservative estimate of £1,000 a week to keep someone in jail, that is going to cost me at least £3,640,000.

Tell me again? Who won?

It's not going to cost you that though is it? Can't be bothered with the maths.

If you want to look at it your way, then aside from nasty folks in jail, the police get paid, prison officers, prison staff and top brass get paid...

And all pay tax....so we get most of it back...
It basic economics.
So there are winners all round.

What is the alternative?
Don't have a police force or prisons?

That'll save some money, good plan...

The editing on that third episode was absolutely diabolical. The split screen bks aside - it was like someone has painstakingly spent best part of 2.5 hours showing the investigation and then after charge some idiot has come in and covered the sentencing in 60 seconds.

It would have been useful if they had summarized some of the evidence that was used in trial because clearly there was a lot more to it.

For the second (mother) guy - it was obvious he was going to get a lightish sentence

If his mum had been a dog, he would have been prosecuted for not killing her.

Very difficult living, Long term, with dementia.
