I don’t understand the lesser sentences for the others, if you attend a crime with somebody carrying a gun, surely that make you equally guilty?

22 years was a shock.

Presumably deserved a heavy sentence due to the random nature of his shooting - seemingly anybody at all could have been targeted. Probably just fortunate that he didn't cause multiple deaths.

It's so hard to hear stories of childhoods like that (as a child, I had no idea fellow children might be suffering any kind of harm) but, I guess it leaves a lot of them as a danger to society, and the judge had more access to that sort of information than we do.
