The one major surprise for me about last night's episode is just how quickly Terminus lasted. After all the uproar from fans about how slow-paced the last series was and having been set in the prison location again(!), I could not believe how quickly the time at Terminus came and went. I was expecting half the series to be spent there based on previous. It is refreshing and looks like Nicotero et al are listening to the fans.

Great episode.

Is it really all over though? Wasn't there still someone locked in a container? (albeit a bad guy) so surely that story has to go somewhere?

The only thing that annoyed me was the accuracy of Carol's little firework. Great episode though, pace felt on a par with season 1. Loved the brutality in this one, proper gory and nobody doing anything completely stupid (thank God Lori is gone, eh!?).

One question still remains from last season, where is Beth?

Some of the Terminus lot survived on that building when Rick shot at them, they'll probably be on the hunt for the group. There will probably be a bit of a social struggle in the Rick, Tyreese, Daryl, Carol area. Rick knows Carol killed Tyreese's girlfriend which nobody else knows and Rick cast Carol away which Daryl doesn't know.

8.5/10 Can't wait for ep.2.

Well, Tyreese knows. Carol told him.

Didn't she?!

The locked in the container was under the 'THEN' segment, which happened before Rick and the gang arrived iirc?

We don't know exactly where the surviving residents are, we just saw them fall off the roof as rick peppered them with bullets.

Let's talk about the throat slitting. Can we? I winced. Properly winced for the first time watching TWD.

Yeah, the chap at thend rom series one.

[comic spoiler]
The big guy in the container (I guess) looks like he is people's favourite bad guy from the comics, Negan. He runs a fiefdom...but it is meant to be near DC.

And the face eating zombie.

I have a bad feeling they have used up all their blood/zombie/explosion budgets for the next 10 episodes though.

I read that even the crew were shocked it made it onto TV but I guess it's relatively tame when the rest of the show is packed with zombies with their heads hanging on by a tiny piece of skin or with half of their skin removed and on fire smile

I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it all.

I'm intrigued to see what the dynamic is if / when Morgan catches up with the group, he seems to have his head together if he's managed to leave his "fortress" in the town.

Yes she told him one night when sitting at a table after shooting the mental child, giving Tyreese the opportunity to kill her, which IIRC is the reason he didn't want to kill anyone again. Until Judith was threatened.

The "Then" part to me not only showed how Terminus changed but also showed us that there are others much worse out there to be afraid of.

so is the 'spoilers' concept out the window?

It's been aired on UK TV, doesn't that mean it can be discussed openly?

I appreciate some might not have access to Fox but what's the solution to this? Banish those that do or encourage anyone enthusiastic about a particular show to get access to it or avoid discussions until they have seen it on Dave 3 in 2016?

Kirkman has already stated it's not 'him'. Upon closer inspection he was actually the crazy long haired guy who Glenn let out of the container and promptly got munched on. Same face tattoos. So one of the original Termites that Gareth and Co ejected.

My mistake! It came in the episode where Carol had to off the freaky girl, thanks for reminding me. Well, it's pretty much hunky dory now then. Let's head to Washington with the clearly mental 'it's classified' guy.

It's the human-on-human aspect that makes it a bit harsher though, I agree it was a bit brutal when they were killing them one by one, but then the voilence is part and parcel with the show.

Bit like The Mountain vs. The Viper scene in Game of Thrones..

Great season opener though, hopefully it remains this action packed, or at least at a similar pace.

We watched S4 in the space of a week last week, thoroughly enjoyed it back to back but could see how it would have been very frustrating on a weekly basis as it was a slooooow build.

As for S5 Ep1...wow. An episode that has been swilling around in my head since last night, specifically the trough/baseball bat/knife sequence, utterly brutal yet almost clinical, fantastic scene unlike anything I've seen on TV.

I would guess the Terminus leader (Gareth?) will be back, it was an obvious 'shot but escaped' moment so I can only assume he will crop up again soon.

Anyhow, it was 'quite' popular... http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/oct/14/walki...
