It was rather hard work. I don't know whether it's the editing or lack thereof but having a panel with that many raucous attention-seekers wouldn't happen on the News Quiz without a handbagging from the compere, it ended up being a bit of a mess.
Toksvig certainly wouldn't have stood for it... and that would have been another box ticked on the diversity check sheet too.Very disappointed that the Friday Night Comedy Podcast has been Dead Ringers for a fair while, I've listened to bits of several episodes and just don't find it funny, probably because I have no idea who half the people they're trying to impersonate are. Looking forward to the return of The News Quiz or The Now Show.
I've been working my way though the back catalogue of John Finemore's Souvenir Programme instead, very funny.

Horses for courses - I've enjoyed Dead Ringers, whereas I am cooling towards the News Quiz, largely on the basis that it now seems obligatory to have Jeremy Hardy on it and feed him a question that gives him a platform for a political rant. When he's on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, he is much better, as there is no politics. I used to enjoy the Now Show, but to me it now seems a bit smug, a bit full of itself, as though the participants can't believe how bitingly satirical and witty they are being, and how lucky the audience is to be able to share in it.I've been working my way though the back catalogue of John Finemore's Souvenir Programme instead, very funny.
Of the recent/current schedule, the Monday evening slot is great as "Clue" comes to an end to be replaced by Just A Minute. I'm quite enjoying Joe Lycett's Thursday evening slot.Jake Yapp's Media Circus is a bit hit and miss, and Josh Howie's Losing It is pretty dire. Recently Daliso Chaponda's Citizen of Nowhere was good.

God help me I'd punch him until my hand hurt if I met his character in real life. I was driving along shouting "of do fk off, you whiny, needy, little st" at the radio.
I guess that's the joke and I've no doubt he was in character - or I certainly hope so - but no, not my sense of humour at all.

Dead ringers is back. Plenty of material too..
Worth catching up on..
Indeed. The Now Show really should be killed off, it is desperately dated, predictable and unfunny. Just listen to the Mary Whitehouse Experience form 1999 and hear the same jokes with slightly different names.Worth catching up on..
