You seem to have discounted the fact that my "entertainment" currently consists of reading and posting on Pistonheads. Forget the shock to the stock market turning the clocks back, I'm back to about May 2001 in my Internet Entertainment. When you start from such a low base.......

2001? When the Now Show was looking tired, repetitive and pat its sell by date...

The lack of studio audience for the most recent Now Show broadcast emphasised by how much.

I can recommend "Mark Steele's In Town".

Available on YouTube.

You can thank me later.
Yes - the radio version (if this is different) is hilarious.

Another police based comedy returns (Friday 11.30):

It's a Fair Cop

^^^ That does sound good, from the clip - fingers crossed!

Meanwhile: "Time Spanner" - it caught my attention for a minute or so, but then I slightly zoned out and lost it - is it *supposed* to be funny???

If it's anything like the previous series of It's a Fair Cop it should be brilliant.

Ever since this stupid Sounds app was launched and iplayer radio retired, I just miss all this stuff. I'm never around at 18:30 so I used to listen to it all on catch up, but it's impossible to find anything in that new app. Even if you select comedy, hardly anything shows up

Look at the schedule, and subscribe to stuff you're interested in. The app is st, no question, but it's not as bad as you're making it. smile

I hated it at first but after using it every night when I can't sleep I'm finding it isn't too bad.

BTW, if you pick Radio4Extra, select comedy, scroll down and select 'View all' there's plenty of comedy to choose from.

My biggest gripe is that when you bookmark several things, you can't reorder them.

Thanks for the tip about Radio4Extra. I too listen to radio comedy when I cannot sleep.

Currently listening to Hut33 for about the third time. Shame this type of programme seems to be no longer made

I'm beginning to give up on the 6.30 slot these days, the Hitchhickers new airing is boring. The only decent programmes that seem to have my interest have been Alexi's sandwich bar and of course the best thing on Radio 4 Dead Ringers, the Now Show varies from dire to just about listenable. Is it just me?

I agree a lot of the 6:30 output is poor now, but there are still some gems: I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue and Unbelievable Truth are good. Hopefully Just A Minute will return with a new presenter. I caught the second half of The Now Show this week and it was OK - not having a studio audience seemed to calm everybody down a bit.

Yes I'd forgotten about I'm Sorry and Just a Minute.
