I thought the site manager Tim just saw what Andy was doing as a hindrance to the building project he is running... and the fact Andy had now actually found something would create a major set back.
That's my interpretation too. He's been told to keep to schedule and find nothing by his bosses. He was given the phone to see the pictures that Andy had taken and deleted them in those few seconds.

Epic scene. That 7 is not running right though, strange for Lance to neglect it. Although ties in well with the rot spotted by Andy and could have been just a plot device to make more noise at 5am.
I too thought it was syrange for it to be running so rough.PositronicRay said:
I was disappointed, it's good enough without introducing an evil, rival, detectorist gang.
Doesn't need it, don't want it.
SImon and Garfunkel have been there from the start.Doesn't need it, don't want it.

Oh, only just started watching this series. My point stands though detectorist "chapters" just aren't needed.
True, a smidgen of poetic licence has been applied with this dynamic. I think of the series/story arcs as a world within a world, with all the enemies, issues, emotions and joys/lows of the accepted "real world", only reduced to a microscopic scale. It is exercised brilliantly and I find it the most calming thing to watch I have ever experienced.I literally want to live in Danebury and go detecting with them all, to find out more about their lives and their histories. Russell for example, what is his story? Minted ex engineer? Lives with mum? Equally the lesbian couple, how did they meet? Hugh, what does he do for a living and why is he so awkward?
Fantastic characters, its almost a shame this is not on every single day, it would be more compelling than no-marks eating testicles in a jungle or faded porn stars dressing up as animals in a gaudy house.

Ah.Them faking finds though, that is new. AT the start, they were simply rvials...and annoying, and a bit stupid (like normal people).
This latest version has taken it a step further.
