One thing I hate - the announcer at the end when the credits are rolling and the theme tunes playing... has to butt in and say something over the top of it all.
Doesn't affect most programmes but this has such a gentle and likeable end.

It's incredibly disrespectful to the programme and it's creators and viewers. It's not needed in the digital age. Remember Blackadder?
Some writers take this into account and move dialogue/action into the credits, like Miranda, thus denying the voiceover tts their vile crimes
You watch Schindler's List and the final moments (with lots of dust in the eye) are completely ruined by a tt telling us about Bargain Hunt within 10 seconds. Tut.
..and that's as a punter, let alone as a composer (which annoys me probably more).

they find the gold but the TR7 breaks down and Simon & Garfunkel are credited with the find.
Unless it's a red herring, I reckon the rough sounding TR7 is going to affect the storyline somehow- nobody seems to have mentioned it up to now, which given Lance's OCD tendencies strikes me as odd.I agree with the other comments, this week's episode was back on form- easily the best in the series. Every scene was either comedy gold or top notch character based drama. The scene with the 'bat phone' had me laughing out loud- not much on modern TV does that.

There's a few things that haven't been mentioned - the first reference to the trip to Africa was in the last (5th) episode, until that point it wasn't clear whether they'd actually been or not.darren f said:

That struck me too - He rushes off to a specialist immediately to get a cracked light replaced, but drives around in it sounding like a bag of spanners? The 'chase' was brilliant!

I'm late to this one APU.
Missed series 1 & 2 and due to the wonders of the licence fee paid for iPlayer I can only catch Series 3 so I managed to catch up with that at least.
What's the story with the Irish accented daughter. She isn't the spawn of the over tarted bint that moved in...so (sorry, see above, I haven't seen S1-2 )

It was mentioned in an episode from a previous series - Andy was back from Africa on a visit.Marlin45 said:

You need to see S2. She's Lance's daughter from a pre-marriage fling, IIRC.Marlin45 said:

long lost unknown daughter he was reunited with in S2. no, not from the tarty bint. Missed series 1 & 2 and due to the wonders of the licence fee paid for iPlayer I can only catch Series 3 so I managed to catch up with that at least.

Series 1 & 2 are better than 3. Well worth seeing if 3 actually appeals to you.
