Agree, even Ghostsbusters 2 wasn't a patch on the first one despite having the same cast.

I have been wondering why my flats taking so long to sell.....

I really like GB2, but it's clearly not as good as the iconic original.
I've been conned by hollywood many, many, many times in the past 15 years. I have quite recently caught on, and stopped going to clearly hopeless nostalgia cash grabs....but Bill and Dan....I love those two

It was by now means a bad film, even if it did have some flaws (poor final battle, the fact that somehow everyone in New York forgot about the ghosts and giant marshmallow man that rampaged through it). It's just the original is so damn good it will only ever be a poor relation.

I spent ages waiting for a sequel, follow up or whatever, 2016 came and went and was a bit meh to say the least.

But I cant see why someone else shouldn't have a go, especially if it has the pedigree of the original director (ok, his son but his dad is producer) and as much of the original cast as possible,

Its a daft film about ghosts at the end of the day that could have been relegated to relative obscurity, it was just that it was a seminal moment, it really had something magical about it, partly it was being 13 but I cant say I have met many people who dont have a fondness.

making the 2016 didnt ruin anyones childhood, despite the giant man babies of the internet bawling about it, it was interesting to go and see it, I tried to like it and didnt mind it but it was like drinking a beer with no alcohol after a proper one, doesn't hit the spot.

Its still feels like unfinished business, and if they can capture even a quarter of whatever the original had then its going to be great, if its not, then at least it was tried.

Will Harold Ramis's family allow his inclusion if it is required, his daughter is a big fan and he was always up for a third movie, that could be interesting and technically its very possible.

Surprised Murray is up for this, isn't he famously unsentimental and not nostalgic? Hopefully not just the money that's tempted the cranky genius back.

If the Halifax ruin GroundHog Day along with everything else they've butchered I'll move my current account, that'll teach em!

Lol, I suspect maybe he is fonder of GB than he lets on, he was keen to let others do it and was int he 2016 film but maybe he is ready to give it another go.

He did the video game which he said he saw as GB 3 and told and anecdote about doing the voiceovers at a studio overnight and really got into it, back into character and was walking back to his hotel int he early hours humming the GB theme and doing the moves, a couple see him and recognise him and gave him a look that said "Its 30 years ago get over it".

He did Zombieland in GB regalia, maybe he has just got less grumpy, he did two Garfield movies, surely he has to have one more GB than Garfields ?

I dont mind Halifax misappropriating it, brings it to a new audience, its nice to see stuff from your childhood still popular.

I wouldn't be surprised if him being blackmailed to be in the ste abysmal 2016 film, and being forced to say it was good had a hand in him wanting to right the record.

Don't forget Ernie Hudson, with Bill and Dan they'd still have three Ghostbusters.

It's also a great opportunity for Moranis, Siggy and Janene to step up.

Lets face it, the bar is so low now that it can't be anything but good by default.

I'm quietly confident.

And regards Murray, how many projects is he involved with nowadays? Look at the ste that De Niro has done to keep him in coke pay the bills.

Murray has a totally different world view and way of life to DeNiro, or most other big stars. He has always valued life and experiences over work. Don't think he's ever had an agent. He has an 800 number that he checks every so often.

Those who live by the sword die by the sword

A studio who would use SJW politics to promote one soulless cash grab then faces a SJW backlash for their next movie.

“So insulting. Like fk us. We dint count.”

So when they made that movie they were saying fk you to the originals and that they don’t count.

Good to know.

Actually you don’t count

Money that is, the movie you made ( well you didn’t make st you stood in front of a camera and read words written by others) lost money.

It was st, the script was poor, the lines were cringeworthy and it was full of hate for men.

Perhaps if you had talent it might have got a sequel.

It’s on you love,

Wonder what the last two spider men didn’t have a melt down like this. Yeah fk you previousmspdermen you don’t count.
And superman

She's got a cheek. She should be grateful that a more faithful sequel is being made as to help erase memories of tne of the biggest bombs of recent times.

Financially? I doubt it would make the top 10 of the past 5 years. Made about $80m more than its production budget and had loads of licencing deals (Lego, Playmobil etc) over and above most movies. Marketing budget would've been big, sure, but not nearly as big a write off as many, many movies in the past 5 years

Mortal Engines is negative $30m on production budget alone. Monster Trucks is a famous recent example, thought to be a write-off of at least $100m, King Arthur, Jupiter Ascending and on.

This real ghostbusters 3 has already delivered.

Awesome teaser trailer, and it's pissed of that fat bint, who I'd never heard of till ghostbusters came out. Funnily enough I've forgotten her name again.

Not half as insulting as marketing it as a good film and then making us sit through it. Not to mention the insult to the name Ghostbusters.

Should hopefully be good, but I think it will still primarily be focused to be a vehicle to reboot it to a new cast for Ghostbusters 4/"New" "New" Ghostbusters.
