Or a noisy day at Donington, that would have tied in nicely with the whole Senna story line. driving

Did no one notice that they did take it to Thruxton for the dry shakedown ,with the FF1600 pack ?

I was surprised to see them allowed to run there.

Anyway ,really enjoyed this, the FW 08C looked comically small ,would like to have seen them park it next to the current

F1 car ,just for comparison.

The old car looks like a FF2000 car from the 90s.

I noticed when they brought the car in for a check-over after its warm-up, and the techs were working on the engine, that the intake blanking plugs kept appearing and disappearing between shots!
When the engine isnt running, the blanks go in, i do the same, saves a lot of potential disasters.

Really enjoyed it, nice to hear a proper V8 again.

Over 500bhp as well, I never realised they made that much grunt.
520BHP is what a good DFV will make

Don't know who the commentator was but he seemed to have escaped from '24 hours in A&E' - awful!

Guy Martin irritates me beyond belief usually, but he was good in this as was Jenson. Why they chose a circuit in Wales was odd because the weather is so unreliable. Why not Thruxton, Castle Combe, or Brands Hatch? Excellent programme nevertheless. It was hard to imagine how they would fill ninety minutes without the usual waffle, but it simply flew by.
Pembrey gets used a lot for testing, i've used it a lot to shakedown F1 cars prior to Monaco as its got similar speed corners, its often one of the few tracks in the UK that is dry when the rest of the country is wet.

Good programme but Martin's repetition gets annoying but he’s never going to change now. Shaun Pooley, who’s become the narrator for a lot of shows, is about as inspiring as a night with Ann Widdicombe. Jenson is just a thoroughly decent bloke. Lack of attention to simple little details really boils my piss at times. It isn’t hard to get facts right. Senna was never World F3 champion and why mention Silverstone was where Wellingtons flew from and then show a picture of a Lancaster? Perhaps I hope for too much at times. Still barring all these niggles I enjoyed it.

I thought confused then decided that they probably meant he'd won F3 Macau, so the de facto 'world F3 thing'.

Did he win the Marlboro F3 masters which iirc was considered to be a top World Class event and was held at Zaandvoort or am I thinking of something completely different.

Really enjoyed last nights program and thought he did pretty well considering his lack of experience and dry running in the car. Driving something that light, with over 500 brake and no driver aids isn't easy to push on. I also thought JB was a thoroughly decent chap and good fun to boot.

I only watched the last 10 mins as I can’t stand guy Martin, but enjoyed seeing the proper F1 cars. But anyway, didn’t anyone else notice the terrible music? Got to be the most over dramatic I’ve ever heard, it was ridiculous. To try and build tension when they were going out to cruise on track. It was really stupid.

For me the novelty of Martin’s style of delivery wore off a long time ago and now I find it annoying. However on the plus side he does get involved in a lot of fascinating projects and his quest for knowledge and his enthusiasm are to be applauded. With that in mind I’ll put up with him and his “quirks” and continue to watch his shows

His day job clothing.

I doubt he cares about dressing up like james may or the like.

I think people forget hes just a truck mechanic from grimsby that happens to be a very good motorcycle racer.

Hes stated many times he doesn't care about the fame and would rather be left alone tinkering with oily things. His wiki page is an interesting read.
