Anyone know when it finishes, and why was Monica’s hand in a bandage on Tuesday and none today?

21 episodes, 3/week. Mid December I’d guess.

The early stages probably aren't filmed in the same strict order that they are shown in. They probably do the whole series worth of the 15-minute challenges in one go, since they need Greg present and a different kitchen/set layout. They may even film a load of people for those challenges that never make the final cut. Then rearrange the kitchen set and spend a week or two filming the rest of the Tuesday/Wednesday "qualifier" shows. Then rearrange the kitchen/set again, dispense with Greg, build the judge's dining table area and film all the early stage Thursday shows back to back. Finally film all the closing stages once they know who's got through.

Would make a lot of sense to film it like that rather than strictly broadcast order, since then any set/studio changes are minimal, all the days needing Greg are in one block and all the days needing judges to be arranged and accommodated are in another block. And then I'm sure it's a low priority concern but doing it like this probably works better for the chefs as well, since their filming dates will be spread out, easier for them to be away from their proper jobs.

Putting the girl from Manchester through to last night was a complete waste of time.

Damn. Missed all this excitement due to bloomin’ work.

Better catch up....

But sounds like I’ll be disappointed if this thread’s anything to go by! biggrin

I don't think you will be - there were some great looking dishes over the course of the week. And as for the gurning, it's part of the show, and doesn't bother me that much. Hell, the way one contestant prepared the squid, I'd have been gurning too.
