Max’s cooking skills were clear to see, BUT I would not have put a chef through who breaks a primary food safety rule by tasting food and throwing the spoon he has just had in his mouth back in the food he is going to serve to others.
There is a safe process for tasting food and double dipping the spoon has no part in it.
OMG! There is a safe process for tasting food and double dipping the spoon has no part in it.
I didn't notice that - and I'm one who stays aways from chips & dips, etc., at dinner parties, unless I'm only with my close family!
I simply detest double-dippers!
As for last night's challenge, I wouldn't have had a clue what the "sauce" was Marcus asked for, but 3 types of broccoli, hmmmm.
Editied for poor typing!

Quite often on MC:Pro you see the chef, or Marcus, put a piece of meat/fish (or sometimes veg) on a blue cloth and then on a baking tray before putting it in the oven. I guess it soaks unwanted fat up and prevents it sticking.
It looks totally like ordinary J-cloth, as used for cleaning, is that really all it is? Just a packet that hasn't been left in a bucket under the sink to fester. Or is it some fancy catering grade version.
I've googled cooking with J Cloth but not found much on it! All I found was some Daily Mail article about wrapping the turkey in J Cloth while it is resting.

I spotted that too - I'm sure when I've cleaned stuff in the past using a J-cloth occasionally some of the colour has come out, so unless you want blue fish I presume it is some fancy cooking grade stuff. Anyone else notice when Gavin left, Dean put his hand out to shake it but was blanked in favour of shaking hands with the other two.
Bit surprised about Maxim going.
I actually thought that Gavin patted Dean on the stomach in an "all the best" sort of way and then shook the hands of the other two. Did not notice any blanking.Bit surprised about Maxim going.

I thought Gavin gave Dean a sort of back-handed slap on the chest and then shook the other two's hands. Did look a bit odd.Bit surprised about Maxim going.
