Masterchef: The Professionals
Discussion
I'm really enjoying this series! I got a feeling that these 2 semi final heats were arranged so the 4 best were split, and each group had a clear "loser" from the start. (I hate using the terms as they are all great chefs, but the other 2 have been better all along).
I'm backing Matthew for the win.

This Paul Ainsworth guy really annoys me, he literally spent the whole programme talking in clichés!
I actually had to leave the room at one point. It's so glaring that he wants to be a more well known TV chef.
You knocked it out of the park with that comment, you should be super-proud of yourself.I actually had to leave the room at one point. It's so glaring that he wants to be a more well known TV chef.
I’d go there for the dessert alone.

What's correct?
The forum probably won't display the Japanese characters properly, but I'll try anyway...In Japanese (Kanji) it is written 和牛.
It can be difficult to Romanise, but the most usual version is 'Wagyū' - with the double stress on the 'u' at the end. Phonetically I'd write that as "Wag-You", but as one word and without a gap. The 'g' wants to be like the 'g' in Australian greeting "G'day!". You could write that as "WaG'you", I guess...?
Key point is that the root word here is 牛 ('Ushi'). It means 'cow', but read another way it translates as 'beef' and is pronounced 'Gyu' (as in 'Gyu Niku' = 'Cow meat' or just 'Beef'). The 'Wa' part refers to 'Japan' (as in 'Washoku' = 'Japanese food') so essentially it's a pretty simple thing that becomes more complicated the more you try to take it apart... Maybe I'm crazy for trying? But 'Wagyu' is a particular type of highly marbled beef from particular breeds of specially bred herds in Japan and is not just any old Japanese beef.
Essentially they just need to pronounce it with more care. I recommend 'Wag You' as close enough. "Wagoo", "Wago" and - on last year's Masterchef - "Waggy Beef" just sounds silly. But with Monica's "Botter" accent she's probably going to struggle anyway.
You're joking?
The judging process is there for all to see.
There is absolutely no doubt these 4 are best chefs who entered the competition.
Idiots looking for offence or a cause to fight where none exist, can fk right off in my book.
Really annoys me. There's enough genuine issues in society without creating utter bks like that.
