So - no protein in the veggie main?
Apparently not! I hope the poor sod's not back in theatre that evening, I'm sure the spud was delicious but it's not exactly a complete meal.

The repeated questions about serving slightly sub-optimal plates are really pissing me off, as Zoe said, what choice have they got? It feels like trying to bait them into making a mistake, a bit, which is not a thing I've seen in Masterchef before and don't much like.

There is a 'thing' about serving meat very pink (even Pork eek) that lamb was a bit over medium imo but perfectly acceptable

"Show stopper dish" - I thought the idea was to present a dish that will keep one in the competition.

Sad to see Zoe go but think it a fair decision.

Shame to see any of those go - nothing "perfect" and a couple of them were lucky!!!

Can't argue with that. She's a decent pastry chef but doesn't have the wide ranging repertoire needed to win Masterchef.

I get that feeling too, two minutes to go and are you serving that? What choice do they have?

Sums up competitive cookery shows generally for me...

Let's go back to the days when Delia, Nigella, the two fat Ladies or the Hairy bikers showed us how to cook something we might want to do at home, rather than a load of show offs making meals that seem to come from the Letitia Cropley recipe book...

Ice Cream with the pudding usually causes problems due to, I guess, the lighting/heat needed for the cameras.
Fingers crossed.
