This could have been so much better.....and 4 hours in, and it's disappearing even further up it's own backside.
I was expecting a sort of Icelandic Fargo, but there's nothing here, no black humour or characters you find compelling.....just a massively disjointed, bland homage to Gambon's stereotypical type cast tortured, character acting.

I can't put my finger on why but I keep tuning in to watch this every week. It's not really very good in my opinion, well not yet anyway but it's strangely compelling. Seems to be well regarded by reviewers however.
its because they set up teasers, and like someone commented, you tune in next week expecting answers.... but you only get more questions and teasers, which will drag it out until the point you no longer care for it.For me they should have kept it simple, whether it was a drama or a horror, just keep it to a nice reasonably believable plot.
They also ordered it incorrectly... episode 1 and maybe 2 also should have been slow and simple... character and plot building.. nothing convoluted should have happened until episode 3 or 4. I feel, due to the need to end each episode with another teaser, and to drag it out, the questions we have from episode 1 will probably not all be answered.
why can we not just have a good, clean and simple narrative
There are plot holes you could drive an icebreaker through. Especially in the first episode.
Overall though it's all right. There were a load more external shots this episode, which helps I think.
True story, but the 'Arctic research facility' interior is actually the changing facilities on the Hackney Marshes.

'Plot-holes' is one of the most overused and abused misapplied terms on here.
"A plot hole, or plothole is a gap or inconsistency in a storyline that creates a paradox in the story that cannot be reconciled with any explanation. These include such things as illogical or impossible events, and statements or events that contradict earlier events in the storyline."

Well this has turned a corner, really enjoyed that episode. Completely opened up the case again and definitely got my interest. Must agree on the feeder thing, I'm assuming these little side plots are relevant in some shape or form. The producers have stated nothing will go unanswered.
What's going on with that carcass.. the big lass coughed as she left..
