I quite liked the car but the chrome headlights surrounds just looked off. I guess the front lights/wings are different on the 912 E as chrome headlight surrounds normally look great on old 911's.

One thing that did annoy is there was a big scratch on the front valance they they never mentioned. You often notice on close up's things like that which you would absolutely have done. The chipped up wheel nuts on the new Fuchs alloys also looked very off. Possibly HD makes all this stuff much clearer.
All the body detailing is identical to a 911. With exception to the chromed rear engine lid cover, what Mike did was period correct, although I don't know why he didn't convert the headlights to euro spec as the US headlamp rims as you say are really ugly.

I didn't even know they existed. I thought it was a good episode overall.

For some reason the German car dealer reminded me of the Major from Fawlty Towers, especially the facial expression after Mike's opening bid for the car.

What does it weigh, though. 800kg, if that?

Dunno but 0-60 in 10s and 110 flat out suggests it's a bit of a sheep in wolfs clothing

My old BMW 800ST was around 85 bhp and 180kgs and that never felt particularly quick, lugging around 800+ kgs is more a sheep in wolfs clothing!

The contemporary Carrera 3.0 was 6 seconds and 150 mph, I know which one I'd rather have!

Not a fan of the Americanised Wheeler Dealers but this the last few episodes they just seem to be taking stock cars Mercedes 500SEC and tonights Camero and tarting them up as replicas of much rarer editions of the model.

Merc they added AMG bits and then tonight they have turned a bog standard Camero into a Rally Sport replica.

No Mike, blinging up the car by whacking as much chrome on it as you can get your hands on does not give it "personality".

Come back to the UK and resurrect ten year old bangers FFS.
yes

This series is dire, let's buy a rubbish car and throw lots of money at it.

Wow - 3 times the power just from that stroker crank.

And the heads, valves & springs, cam, rockers, pistons, manifold, carb, headers... smile

Not convinced that the hi-stall tc would necessarily be a good thing in a street car in that state of tune.

That Camero was lovely. Really enjoyed this episode.

That car sounded awesome!
OK, so it's still a long way from the golden days of Ed covering rust with filler to make it look good, but this series is somewhat redeeming itself!

Quite a good episode that. The chrome bling really ruined the look though.
I too enjoyed the programme but I thought the chrome added to it.
I liked the chrome, bar the headlights. I would have removed the tints on the windows before anything.

Quite an enjoyable episode. I felt they did a good job with the car in the end. I was a bit dubious after Mike started putting the black stripes on it but in the end it looked ok.

I love the way that whenever Mike does any work on the cars himself, he feels compelled to wear his Mike Brewer Motors shirt.

Most of the stuff they did on that Camaro was certainly close to the original ethos of being things that you could do in your garage at home, compared to some of the more recent attempts where Edd has used a special tool one time that cost £600 or similar.

Sure, they spent $15,000 on bits, but that's nearly all stuff I could do at home as it was mostly (on the bits they showed at least) a bunch of bolt-on bits that needed little more than a few spanners to change. Yes the lift makes access easier, but you could do that with the car suitably jacked up if necessary.

And of course, you don't have to spend $7k on an engine, you could probably get one from a write off and get it reconditioned for a chunk less.

Quite enjoyed that and the end result was pretty good, thought it was overwheeled when they first put them on, but once it had been lowered a little and outside it looked fine. Could have done with the red being a deeper colour, looked a bit anemic/orange...

Just watched the 912 episode. Why did they retain that awful rubber radio aerial?

How does he get away with that - I thought there were rules about promoting your brands on TV shows?
