Another Sky Price Increase
Discussion
I don't use Kodi oir any other system, there are ways round that if you only watch certain programs, as I do. I don't miss tv and never watch stuff as it is being shown.
But the way these companies try it on is the best advert for those systems there can possible be.
I don't consider it the crime of the century, and in reality streaming, unless you are doing it on a monumental scale is unlikely to be found out. Detectot vans are a scam as are the threats.
the biggest threat is your ISP blocking every site they set up!
Which is why VPN is now a very profitable business to be in

I've been using now tv for the past few months alongside sky, the days of needing or wanting to record stuff are behind me with most things available on catch up or youtube. So i think it might be time to go soon. The only thing i need to work out is how to get BT Sports .... we pay for that at the minute and although we could get it free with BT internet i really don't want to join BT for that.

Just had the first offer from Sky to tempt me to stay: £5 off the Entertainment package! I think I'll pass...
Have you spoken with ‘retentions ‘ yet?Sky Entertainment: £20
HD: £5
Kids: £5
Box Sets: £5
F1 HD: £14
Multiroom: £6 for 6 months
Still doesn't sound a great loyalty reward to me.
I wasted 20min on the phone to Sky eventually negotiating fibre for less than my current broadband only for it to turn out that although there are fibre connections in my area they are all allocated
Anyhow, I'm now paying
£20 Sky entertainment, binning off box sets & kids.
£5 HD
Broadband & line rental
£20 for 12 months with the option to upgrade to fibre for £2pm if a connection becomes available.
Better than the £72 Sky quoted after the recent price increase..

£20 + £5 HD add-on is the list price for the entertainment pack now. Surprised they didn't offer you a discount on that..Anyhow, I'm now paying

Just got Sky Q multi and movies etc for not much more than we pay now for boggo single room HD. Took a bit of effort mind.
I’d love Sky Q but they couldn’t make it work in my house. There’s a big inglenook fireplace between the 2 rooms I wanted the boxes in. I’ll try again when they get it all working on Broadband.bad company said:

Is that not how it works now?The only difference with the new dishless version is that it'll stream from Sky over broadband to the box, rather than receiving via satellite.

Might just need a wifi signal booster ? I guess I find out this week when the engineer comes to fit it...IIIRestorerIII said:
If anyone is an IPSE member their Perkbox has some good offers. If you don't fancy the bother of cancelling and then signing up again you can at least use those to renegotiate a better deal.
It's for new customers only? Not sure how that helps? Do you just mean as something to use as a benchmark for negotiation?Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
