I really enjoyed both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead openers.

I'd have to go with galactica as well. Better than many films.

Some good ones in here. I watched Battlestar Galactica as a kid (it had "Face" in out of the A-Team) but not watched any of the recent ones.

Is it still basically the same thing - trying to get back to Earth & battling the Cylons?

Apart from those already mentioned the shield was a great pilot and on a slightly different note; the club, the pilot for Phoenix nights was pretty good.

yes and no.

the original is seen as the first conflict... kinda.. and this is a new conflict. with updated cylons, but the old chrome jobbies are still about.

i love also how galactica herself looks more and more battered as time goes on.

fire-up the miniseries on netflix to wet your appetite smile

The Shield. Amazing pilot, instead of just setting the tone and introducing characters, it lays a cornerstone of the plot and affects everything that happens after it.

left me hungry for more!!
Yep the pilot was good - but the very first episode of the series was awesome - talk about going into a series "hot".

I saw the original Battlestar Galactica Pilot at the cinema, it was released here in the UK as a film.

It impressed me as a kid, surround sound in a London Cinema - family holiday, and the Viper launch sound moving from back to the front, at least that's how I remember it.

Recent Pilots that impressed me... Man in the High Castle.

There was a show called Touch starring Kiefer Sutherland. The pilot episode was amazing! Unfortunately, the show went downhill after that! frown

I'd say lost. It kept me hooked for a season for some reason.
I can see people picking breaking bad, but that's just a great show. Lost was a very poor show with a great pilot.

Didn't Mia Wallace star in a pilot? smile

I'd say The Sopranos, there was nothing like it at the time and it set the scene perfectly for what was to become the best TV series of all time

Modern day: Breaking Bad.
I watched the 1967 Prisoner quite recently... Utterly brilliant!

Lost definitely.

For a newer series, The Last Man on Earth got me good
